You've hit your numbers for the year...now what?

Imagine that you're crushing it and having the best year of your career...Like through the roof smashing it. Over 200% to goal, beating everyone else by hundreds of thousands of dollars in GP and the only one to so far make it to the company trip next year (I work at a startup so my competition is only like 10 people). Now I know what I need to do-keep grinding, keep growing, keep pushing for more deals and contacts and everything work-related because this shit never stops and I want fun tickets because the fun also never stops BUT....how much time off/taking the pedal off the break is appropriate?

I am one of those that can't really relax until shit is completed, so now that I've hit my goal I've set a new goal for the rest of the year and am working towards that. That being said, I also kind of want to fuck off a little bit more here and there. I know that more fucking off=less deals which =less money so I'm not looking to stop grinding but what is appropriate here? When you've hit your annual goals early, what do you do?

If I were you, I would either:

1) Take it really slow, get to 150% max, and invest the 80% saved bandwidth in my own shit (travel / side-gig / hookers / etc)

2) Go for 300%, get my commission and make an exit, before they move the targets north and make my life miserable again.

Ah yes the ol' hooker investments...really pays off ;) But yes I have increased my goal by a doable number but definitely enjoying a Friday off here and there a little bit more. For next year, I hope I can maintain this momentum but I know there's too many variables out of my control.

I agree. You deserve to treat yourself a bit. Take a little time, and come back to set yourself up for additional success this year as well as 2023.

Honestly? I would work like Tuesday-thursday most weeks, and take a ton of extended weekend trips, spend a lot of time with friends and family, etc.

Absolutely keep grinding and keep pushing. But you already won the game, now enjoy the fruits of your labor too.

Basically what I've been doing! And finally not feeling guilty about it and have been able to not look at my phone the entire time. The first six months of the year any trip I had I was still taking calls etc during my vacations but now I can check out and be okay with it

Definitely can't stop, but enjoy the easing of pressure, make some bank, and set yourself up to do it again.

they will obviously move the bar up and may even change the comp plan this year. Ease up a bit, but still work it.

Efficiency should not be "celebrated" with more work. Go on vacation - how about taking long weekends working Monday - Thursday?

Amen to that! Can't swing a long vacay but definitely planning fun weekend trips without feeling the guilt of missing a day for the next few months

I keep running and set my personal goals higher. I hit 350% last year, right at 300% this year. My goal is to buy vacation properties in cash. I'm looking for a beach house this year, mountain house next year.
