2 months into my 2 Js journey

Hey Guys,

Couldn't chronicle the 1st month because it was a hassle trying to do both.

Luckily my roles are different in 1st i do AE work and in the 2nd I do AM work.

So far what has been working for me is blocking the time slots for each...luckily the AM role most of my work is via skype so its not tracked and I only do weekly internal meeting whicj is a bit difficult because they keep shifting the time so i don't know when to block the 1st one...

But yea so far so good...still didn't manage to grow my role in the 2nd role as I have proven my self in the 1st.

Funny thing...my performance since i started the 2nd wfh role improved like a 100% i guess being lazer focused for a limited time works for me. So if you have adhd like me this actually could be great for you...

Sorry, only read the title.
It's amazing what necessity can do. As @antiASKHOLE said so well - organize to maximize.

Just don't burn out!

I addressed that in the 2nd post but long story short - 1 both companies are not really active on linkedin - in fact company AE I'm the active linkedin guy while company AM no one I'm connected too over LI and whoever sends connection I just follow them because it's a solid excuse to say I thought we're connected bs! more to it in the other post

You should document these more often. I will do too - mine has a similar story line.

By controlling the calander. So anyone who tries to book me will need to minimally book 3 hours before any said event. It was a feature i found at demodesk. That forces them to actually ask me if im available or not.
Every meeting automatically book a 15min buffer for meeting purposes and also to indirectly block back to backs from the same company

Awesome to see people being overemployed in sales as well!

How is this affecting your performance in job 1, do you have a clear role that takes priority?

Actually job one im closing more deals than expected...i guess feeling that you are short in time or like you are free from "9-5" mentality you own your calander so i make the most out of the limited time. 2nd job is where im struggling as an AM maybe because still looking to learn institutional things 1st and the onboarding process

Yea and I joined in a pretty tough time that they are migrating from multiple systems to new ones so even they are a bit confused and a lot are relatively new too

It actually improved and that is because i have clear priorities which is doing demos and following up on them. Whereas in job two i have a list of accounts that im tasked to grow.

I'll be embarking on this journey in the beginning of the new year. 1 BDR 1 Appt Setter. One of them has no prospecting only inbound leads, so I guess that would make it more manageable, also 100% comish so whatever, they don't own my time.
Also am hunter type, the busier I am the more productive. Hoping that tendency will follow thru. I'm in for an interesting few months...

Has massive growth ever led to mental breakdown? I have been hustling since 17 years old chasing to strive for success doing odd jobs and unintentionally ended up with Edtech K12 Sales as my first official sales job - A toxic culture with no employee respect eventually me to switch after 18 months. Since reps in Edtech are highly valued, had no option but to continue in Edtech sales. This time it was higher education segment, things looked good in the first few month but slowly it started adapting methodologies like the old Edtech since the management was changed. I decided to move out and switch to B2B SaaS. After 13 months of learning & success, my aspirations werenโ€™t matching with the growth vision shared by my manager and ended up being desperate to switch. Got to a AM-Inside Sales role with a 50% hike. Guess what? It led to my mental break down since the culture is pathetic. In entire journey, all challenges never affected my performance but l am losing the spark to glow and hustle eventually. While I plan to switch, a token of guilt is still alive. The experiences have made me far better and strong as a BDR but blank about the next steps in my career. Thanks for reading. Do share your thoughts.

Is tech sales still as desirable a career today as it was 5 years ago?
