30 minutes to President Club proud of harassing Forbes Judges

Genuinely one of the most insane things I've seen. He encourages his audience to literally harass the judges for 30 under 30, doesn't make it, POSTS THE EMAIL OF FORBES TELLING HIM THIS WAS HARASSMENT, and still proceeds to act like he was implementing next level strategy. If a prospect or client send this email to a sales director or manager that rep might get fired or put in a PIP for having 0 situational awareness.

This is why actual sales people hate sales content. It's all geared towards entry level hype with 0 substance. I would occasionally listen to this podcast if the guest was interesting but not anymore.

This is crazy. I feel your last point, I actually didn’t mind the pod as it was a good listen with the right guest. Loved the wording of the email back tho.

Why stop there? Show up at their home at 3am and convince them. They'll love the initiative! Pick up their kids from school and offer to return them for a nomination. Deflate their car tires so they can't get to work and nominate your competition.

Yeah you're not committed unless you kidnap someone's family or swat their house. Embarrassing he didn't even try to put a sneak into their homes at night with a mask on. Glad you get it.

Insane. This isn't something to fucking harass the judges about. It should be bestowed, not chased.

So many of these lists are just people buying their places, but Forbes is actually legit.

It makes me feel less inclined to want to pay attention to this guy... I've heard good things about the pod but this puts me off.

Phenomenal response though. I wonder if he submits RFP responses after the deadline, and stalks the DMs to be considered.

It's a real shame because the pod does have some decent episodes. I will say it was very hit or miss for me but this is behavior I absolutely can't respect. The reason sales has a bad rap is because of these types of antics and he doubled down on it. No good rep would pull this with their own pipeline.

The most upsetting part for me is that he posted their response to him and seemed proud of it? That response is the literal opposite of what you're after in sales. I will never understand the logic here.
And good luck ever getting on the 40 under 40 list as well. Way to ruin your chances in the future.

It should be viewed as a mark of shame yet he's wearing it as a badge of honour.

Definitely on Forbes' blacklist.

Edit: just saw that you used the phrase 'badge of honour' on another comment. heh

The craziest thing about this is that 30 under 30 is a bullshit fake ass competition. The places on the list are bought and paid for, this isn’t a legitimate list of “aspirational people”

It’s a little embarrassing that they wanted it this bad, enough to publicly humiliate themselves. That is down bad behaviour

What a lunatic. Can't imagine being that thirsty just to be on Forbes list. It's a Trent Dressel level of harassment.

It's an insane step to take to be on a list that's based on nominations and reputation. If he did his profiling properly he'd know this. Also know that the judges don't respond to this type of harassment.

I always knew those guys were crazy. I heard from their dorky founder with the big frizzly hair fro and glasses, the guy was unbearable to listen to.

I don’t know what’s worse, him doing this, or the comments supporting the behavior.

Honestly I feel like reaching out to the judges should be against the rules… this is supposed to be a fair contest where the nominees work speaks louder than their persuasion of the judges.

This isn’t a deal that you’re trying to close it’s more of a clout contest IMO

I haven't heard the podcast but this kind of stuff annoys me. Campaigning for a top 30 under 30 just screams that he is a tool. Do something amazing and you get recognized, or maybe you don't but if your mission is to be recognized then the mission sucks.

Wow, this is a good reason to never agree to be a judge for anything like this.

He's trying to get the Sale so I have to respect the hustle. And getting the Forbes recognition would go a long way to helping him "establish his brand", which is obviously what he's all about.

When you are in the business of selling yourself, this is what you need to do. Is it borderline harassment? Yes. But what would YOU do to get the biggest sale of your life?

Not this. This isn't the answer at all. And I'm not sure who he's building a brand towards but it seems like idealistic BDRs who think this is it after watching wolf of wall street.
At no point does this scream sales but it does scream harassment. And when they reply with that as an email, you can't wear that as a badge of honor. If he's trying to emulate a sales process then that response is a complete fail. I'm not in the business to alienate my prospects to the point they think less of my entire organization as a bad reflection of me.

You can call anything harassment. Even simple cold calling (watch some of @GeneralCorp 's videos). If you haven't been called out on harassment for simply doing your job you either haven't been doing it long enough or you haven't tried hard enough.

The guy is using this experience as another social post - content is king and it doesn't matter if its good or bad.

I don't condone his antics, which is why I don't follow people like that on LI, FB or anywhere. But I get it. I get the hustle and drive. I rarely condemn someone for sins of commission, but I have little patience for sins of omission.

I get ya man. Understand your perspective. It’s content and he got the desired reaction.

Like you I just can’t condone this type of behavior and wish it was called out more.

And yeah, all of us have been called out for harassing but I typically use it as a teaching moment haha. Seems like this just emboldened him to do it again.

Either way, appreciate your perspective on this my dude!
