A thread - Brief - 50 days of Outbound as an AE


Background: I've been an AE for about 2 years now. It's an inbound dominated role, and you can see around that companies no longer proactively want to buy tools. That's when I thought of using my prior experience to start outbound into accounts and see if I can generate my own pipeline for now.


I am being extremely optimistic and I think the market will correct itself in a few quarters. But till then, I got bills to pay. While a very tough bet because:


  • I have lost my touch in outbound
  • It's a nice-to-have tool I am selling and the market is tough-nut
  • The tech-stack is a mess in my company and there are multiple tools I need to tally before I reach out, just to avoid duplicate reach outs
  • I AM BACK TO EXCELS!

So I thought, what better way to document my efforts, learnings and outcomes - if not for Bravado? :)


It's been a while since anyway, so here's my comeback thread. I don't know how to create threads, so I am going to post different threads.


You guys can let me know your thoughts, suggestions and drop in some amazing advice as well! :)

Great idea - I work at an almost entirely outbound company and we are doing pretty well this year; not sure what industry youโ€™re in, but I can pretty confidently say it seems the market isnโ€™t the only thing holding you guys backโ€ฆ.

I believe it ain't a bad idea particularly you already have the required experience.
Despite the mentioned challenges, you could still try it for the first months or 2, and based on the results you can then decide whether to proceed with it or not!
