Am I being impatient?

I have been in my current AE role for about a year and a half. I like my coworkers and leadership but I got into sales because I like $$. our teams attainment has been low as we are trying to expand into a newer vertical. The product fit is not ideal but has potential with time and some potential development. The biggest concern however is I do not see the opportunity for career advancement. Coincidentally I am getting hit up by recruiters left and right offering a larger base, higher attainment rates, and a shorter sales cycle. It's very enticing...my concerns are being perceived as a job hopper, not being an expert in one particular SaaS field (most of the jobs are in different SaaS models ie Martech vs REtech) and moving over to something that is hot but may fizzle out. the question is how long do you wait for potential to be realized?

I don't think you're being impatient. You've been there a year and a half and if they are not going to offer you the opportunity for growth that you want, you should go somewhere you will have it.
If you start trying to jump every 6mo-1year, that will not look great on your resume (so don't keep jumping), but this is a great time to be looking around and vetting other companies that can provide the future you want.
I'm in a similar boat to you, but I'd recommend not rushing the process. Find that fit and grow your network while you're at it.

It cant hurt to take the calls and see what else is out there, but would you leave because your current role is hard or because you believe in the "next" company more?

Take the calls. Sounds like you aren't happy and you've got enough experience to warrant a jump.

My general rule has always been as long as you can explain the things on your resume you have nothing to worry about.  It's hard to get recruited by other places with higher incentives, etc. because it forces you to take a look at your current situation and pick it apart.  Nothing wrong with hearing other prospective companies out.  You will learn real quick whether a company is something you want to stay away from and you don't have to leave your current job to do so. Good luck to you!

There's nothing wrong with getting a better offer from someone else. If anything, it speaks highly of you. That being said, I don't think you're being impatient but this whole thing seems to be making you anxious. If that's the case, have you figured out what is indeed causing that anxiety, and why?

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
If you're not feeling it, you're not feeling it. I wouldn't worry too much about the expertise factor for now. People do have a tendency to move around. Find a job that pays well.
