Any Gartner Reps in the Building?

Meeting with a recruiter on Monday - their pitch was enticing, as is the RepVue info.

Curious on any firsthand experience?

I feel like we've seen this question before, so I checked search, and no.
Sorry I can't help.

Yeah- some Gartner vetting was bantered at one point. General consensus, if I recall, was pretty decent. I vetted them for myself about a year ago and found that their OTE’s were on the middle-ish to lower side, but their attainment as a company was top of the heap. Can’t get a much better brand if you’re selling to tech.

My cousin works there and seems to really like it.

I was there pre-Covid. There are about a billion different branches there but overall I worked with some of the sharpest people I have ever worked with, quota was attainable and the brand is really well respected.

One thing to note (unless it has changed) is that their titles are different then most companies.

Account Executive - Account Manager responsible for renewals and upsells
Business Development (what I was) - what most companies call an AE. Responsible for new business sales only

I mean I'd take Palo Alto over them today - but appreciate the insight!

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
A buddy of mine recently left. His comments were "smart organization" but he was a generation behind those who made some serious $$. He left for a "make it big" opportunity, at least according to him.

Market right now anywhere doesn't feel like a gold mine. I'm more after consistency and established names.

How'd it go? Their recruiters constantly contact me.

I'm interested, have the second round soon.
Love the idea of established process (vs my startup) and an emphasis on whitespace and renewals vs new logo for this role.
Comp is strong too.

Ex-rep. Qualify hard quota attainment, division and territory.
It's a very cool company, but there are A LOT of divisions, and some of them are obviously overstaffed for the amount of opportunities they exist.

If you're on those underperforming teams or territories, you'll have a very, very bad time.
Feel free to ask me any questions you want.

I'm familiar with 2 reps that used to be there and can share their perspective
- They worked on their executive events team
- 1 told me that gartner would just blatantly lie to them about what was achievable
- the other said it was ok but wouldn't do it again
They have several different verticals they sell to and the range is wild.
I'm not sure how new reps books are assigned or anything but I'd be curious to hear what your interview experience has been like.

So far just the recruiter, and obviously all roses. Second meeting next week I'll come back to this.
