Anyone have good LinkedIn marketing tips/marketing tips in general?

The start up I work for is just starting to develop their marketing strategy and LinkedIn presence and even though I'm in sales I'm assisting on the marketing front too.

What methods have worked for your companies to get a new brand out to your target market?

Any suggestions are appreciated!

In all honesty...

Good luck juggling both if they're asking you to balance sales and marketing.

I'd follow companies with similar products in your market. See what they're doing on LinkedIn.

Engage with your ICPs early and often. Create valuable posts that highlight pain points your product alleviates.

Good luck!

Try to come across as somewhat authentic, and provide value. It's tough to stand out though, as everything on LinkedIn sounds the same.

I've helped write posts and such for a startup back in my marketing days. But it was not the same back then.

Found out a few weeks back external links do not play well with LI algo. Best shared in comments

Schedule regular posts and use the right hashtags.

Over time, you'll see what type of posts have the most engagement.

You can then use LinkedIn ads to promote those posts to reach a bigger audience.

Finally, make sure your LinkedIn company page has a strong CTA and is properly set up.

Happy to share more tactical or strategic advice.

Chase true followers. My previous company still goes gaga over how they have more followers on LI than their competitors, but the engagement on posts from the company page is horseshit.
1000 true followers > 10k followers

Also, does your brand have a unique voice?

Right now we are heavily leaning on our product fit. We are developing content as we speak, to start developing our unique voice in the market. Iโ€™m pushing senior leadership hard to have someone film when they have speaking engagements as well as looking into doing a podcast to continue to be industry leading voices.

Assuming VP Biz Dev is an IC and accountable to a revenue number, the marketing ask isn't reasonable. Startup selling is tough enough without having to fish for likes.

But, if the goal is to "get your brand out" there's nothing to measure. So I guess its a free pass anyway.

ChatGPT will give you a GTM strategy. It'll likely give you best LI practices as well.

Much luck!
