Anyone working Partner/Channel Development?

What's your day like? What sort of experience got you to where you are doing this? What's the best part of the job and the worst? It's a secondary responsibility of mine, and while I've always had partners; I haven't really recruited, developed, or built a program and would love to hear from you all.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
Most channel people try to set up regular cadence calls with their partner accounts - every week or 2 weeks. They invite the appropriate direct sales people and simply connect the dots.

I worked the partner ecosystem at a major MarTech. Worst job I ever had in SaaS due to the model and saturation of market.

Check out Barrett King on LinkedIn. He’s someone that I have consulted with in the past to set up the motion at another company.

It’s amazing how every day is different, but you really act as a sales manager who covers the sales team of the partner company. I can dig in deeper, but it is a lot.

We are incentivized to work with channel/partners and because of that they have been more involved with my patch. However, it can be hard to really build a relationship if you dont have a regular cadence and most of them have great insight and relationships within the accounts you also have or trying to reach. If you keep in contact and have a plan of attack and involve them early they can be a huge asset and champion for you
