Are sales "career consultants" a thing?

Hi everyone!

Is there such a thing as a sales career consultant?

IE someone who is able to look at your resume and give you advice on what Base/OTE you should be shooting for, or maybe what level roles you should apply to?

I constantly feel like I only apply to roles I know I'd be a good fit for and never stretch myself or take risks. Recently got hired as an AE and am the oldest on the team (at 27) and feel like I could have gone for a more senior role.

Curious if a service exists that can advise you one what roles you're going to be able to land / or if there's any data based on YOE / expected OTE that can provide any insight

i think most recruiting firms would have this sort of service/advice.

Also a reason to lean on the War Room and sites like RepVue to better understand what people in the industry are making.

Great advice, look up a sales staffing agency and ping a recruiter. Take a call and see what they have to say about market rate

RepVue can certainly provide guidance on OTE for various roles.

I agree with Tennis that a good recruiter can provide an overview of expectations and where you could land, and also what would be a stretch, but attainable.

I’m in the medical sales field and they certainly exist here in forms of sales coaching and executive development… I’d be shocked if tech didn’t have the same… if it doesn’t I smell a business opportunity.
