At what point in December do you stop reaching out to prospects?

I typically stop the week before Christmas. Haven't had the best results the week before, so I usually take the time to catch up and get ready for the next year.

Yeah, just a touch base. It doesn't hurt and keeps me actively doing something. It does often get a response, usually a thank you, you too, but establishes that they still have a pulse.

Right now - it depends on your sales cycle and what you're selling. I imagine transactional sales can still start and close easily this time of year but for me, I'm only doing reach out to close what I can quickly or build up for Q1. People tend to be in a good mood with the holidays approaching so I actually love calling this time of year and building new relationships (and of course thanking all my closed customers from the year). I also send out some gifts to big target accounts for next year.

20th December, but I am in the SMB segment. These folks were working even on the Thanksgiving weekend, so yeah.

It depends vastly on the segment, the region and your rapport with the person you're reaching out to.

Im on the fence about this one this year. I closed out everything I committed to this quarter. Worked my ass off to do it. My gut says I’ve earned the sweet journey into the sunset for the year. My pipeline, though, is now nonexistent. I’m confident I could spin it up come Jan 2, but I’ll make half an effort at having some initial discos set ahead of that.

Rather than stopping, try just changing the message or the target. Reach out to current customers and ask them how you can help them get off to 2023 the right way. Offer them every little bit you can, even if the business is not going to you.

ASK FOR NOTHING

Then, if you were able to help them with something, reach out and ask for a referral in January.

most people are dead from the 15th to the new year

but those that build and want the new year to be started strong will make plans and calls the whole way through
