CRM: SFDC vs Hubspot

AE's / BDR's who have had experience using both platforms. Preference? Pro's/Con's? I've only used SFDC in the past and just began at a new startup using a homegrown and horrible CRM today. Looking to move that ASAP but wanted to get other's opinions, from a rep perspective, before just going with what I know.

Please vote but ideally, any additional thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

From my experience, the only real determining factor between going with SFDC or Hubspot, is Org Size.

Both great CRM's for their intended purpose, but SFDC in a small org can kill a company because of build out/developer time & resources needed to make it fit.

And running Hubspot in a large Org will create too many bottlenecks because there are too many built in operations and functions that can't be written over or re-developed.

I've worked with Dev teams at 3 different companies to build out both SFDC and Hubspot CRM's to the companies need.

Rule-of-thumb:
Less than 50 Salespeople - Hubspot
More than 50 Salespeople - SFDC

For me? SFDC's ancient UI, brutally long contract, incomplete out-of-box product, and endless upsell victimization make this a no-brainer. Also, if you're on a homegrown solution, the money leap is likely not palatable.
Between them 2, Hubbyspot FTW. There are other good options too.Whatchoo sellin?

I am laughing outloud at "upsell victimization." I was trying to describe it just yesterday and that is such an apt description of their acquisition nonsense.

Totally agree. Used both, both have quirks, but if I had to pick between two shit-sandwhiches, I'd pick Hubspot's for all the reasons he^ listed.

If you are really still small and moving from homegrown Hubspot is probably your best starting point.

SF is great, but I doubt you have time to really build out all the things that a good instance would require. So go with Hubspot as a good enough stop gap solution.

It all depends on the type of org you are today and what your plan to grow into.

SFDC offers limitless maturity on tap, but requires a team dedicated to admin and ops. HubSpot can be very simple and delicately complex, but will remain the younger sibling when it comes to advanced workflows and marketing tools.

Agree with all of this!
Our team made the switch to SF late last year & we're still in the roll out process. The whole sales team won't get access to it until probably early next year. Once it's fully ready & built out I think it will be great, but the process takes too much in my opinion. I've heard great things about HubSpot however & think it's worth looking into!

Unless your big time name and org and looking to spend big money its HUBSPOT ALL DAY (and sometimes even if you are all of the above).

Is there a more beaten to death thread on this forum than CRM preference? Please use the search bar.

I think they are both massively overrated. Idk, maybe I just don't know how to use them

If you have a great RevOps team that can connect all the things, then Salesforce. If you don't have a RevOps team at all, definitely HubSpot.

I never used HS. However they made me an offer last year and got me quite hyped for their product. Would love to try it out in a new role in the future

Pipedrive underrated but SF is king for a reason, integration upon integration.

I find hubspot easier to use and navigate. Salesforce has more options, but it requires a lot of integration and maintenance.

If your organization is big enough and you're also doing outbound outreach, I think a good combination of the two helps to track down different things so it's very helpful to have both.
And just my two cents on the CRM topic, having worked with HubSpot, Outreach, and other CRMs, Outreach by far is my favorite for all the data you can collect and modify your outbound activities to that data. I love it.
