Cutting through the noise on the latest technology trends in sales?

Hey everyone,

Everyday I look on Linkedin there's a fancy new strategy, methodology, GTM strategy or god forbid cold call script that's making the rounds.

How do you stay informed about the latest technology trends that actually relevant, meaningful and will have an impact on what we do as sales leaders.

I'm adopting the strategy of just focusing on 1-2 influencers and going all in on their methodologies

I would add GAP to the mix, but that's basically it.

Why are you looking to sales influencers to stay on top of technology trends?

Are you a sales leader as in management, or do you mean a leader as in top sales person?

LinkedIn won’t tell you what to buy based on your existing stack. Bravado threads aren’t specific enough either.

You could hire a consultant to review your stack and make suggestions, or you could send me a DM and I’ll do it for free because I like to help. It’s also my day job.

There is always a “new” thing because sales influencers need a way to stay relevant and to have ppl pay attention to them.

When it comes to actual tech, i wouldn’t spend too much time worrying about it.
If something comes around that is ACTUALLY ground breaking there won’t be a way for you to kiss it since it will be around for a long time haha.

Are you talking about tech trends designed to help sellers, rather than tech trends at your company that you would want to communicate to your ICP?

I try the stuff in believe in. If it does not make a difference i disregard it. I like A/B testing a lot though. (maybe there is some Marketing in my blood, yuk)

Ultimately you have to have a structure that works for you and then be willing to tweak it as needed based upon the ability for you to realize that it may be good or bad but you won't know until you test it out.

Put in the work and touch base with your team to see what’s working. If you follow LinkedIn you’re gonna think it’s cold emails written by chat GPT and walking videos of some old guy shouting about sales that gets contacts.

Nice to be around. Had a periodic chaos month at work, but things are finding their level.

Good. Still waiting on the word about getting rid of public profiles that were sneakily thrown upon us.

Agreed. Working on a post about it but waiting for a moment where it won't be buried in spam.

IMO... On a corporate Level: Hiring a special Sales trainer for a weekly and monthly updates for the latest applicable technologies, sales strategies and techniques. On a personal level: Joining platforms like LinkedIn & Bravado,etc,...

When was the last time any of these platforms helped someone buy technology specific to their org? That’s how everyone ends up with Gong. They’re loud and look like the right magic pill—but they’re expensive snake oil.

To this day, I still don't know what Gong actually sells.

Call recording and a half-baked revenue forecasting tool. More features due out soon to compete with the outreach and salesloft types

I'm working in Industrial robotic solution providing company. As in India idk how to sell robotic solution(B2B) as I do not have contacts any advice? P.S: - LinkedIn is not useful tool for B2B sales in India because most of people use it as Facebook or for job hunting 🙁
