There's a fellow lady savage that I've worked with for few years and we ended up in a few different companies together. She usually hit quota. No matter what happened, she was close or hit quota.
So I was thinking, well, I need to get on top of this. Surely there's something I don't do. I've talked to her before but then I was pretty much bullied out of a job and it took a few years to recoup.
We had 45 minutes catch up today where I learned and got more concrete advice than I have done in years. I'm building my patch from scratch. And she said as example, that look contact the BIG 4 on your area and several other organizations. Talk to them. They won't buy from you but they are highly likely to recommend your solutions if you're on top of mind for them all the time.
She said look, she'll dig up some materials if she has them... She doesn't have need for them.
She said whom I need and don't need internally and how to talk to people.
I wanted to share because I feel inspired and motivated. I guess the lesson was is go and ask for help and for mentors anywhere you can. Chances are they'll be happy to help especially if they've been around for a while.
Have you got your mentor? Any pointers on how to build something when you're patch has struggled for years?
Otherwise I'm in my pink no news no socials bubble.
