From Sales to Recruitment, any tips (Business development)?

Hello lovely people,

I have spent most of my career in SaaS Sales, going up from a Junior SDR up to an Account Executive TL. I am very accustomed to selling platforms, however services are a bit of an uncharted territory for me. The project was started up less than half a year ago, very solid results relying on referrals and inbound so far, but that in itself brings an issue - the pipeline and revenue is very inconsistent. One month can have 8 open positions, next month it might be 1. Our next step is Outbound to have more control of the pipeline.

Do we have some legends in Bravado experienced in Recruitment business development that would be open to shed some light? Any feedback and ideas would be very much appreciated.

I have absolutely zero practical experience, but I do have one external recruiter that I use wherever I go. And I wouldn’t ever consider making a change. I think that’s really the whole point.

The dude finds needles in haystacks. He’s so good at what he does that the interviews that follow his recommendations are usually short, given the trust factor. I don’t really have to verify the candidate’s credentials.

Make your clients happy and the pipe will level out.

Would be interesting to get an intro if your recruiter is open for a chat 🤔

It’s one of those that is pretty relationship based since you really do well when you are the only vendor trying to fill a role

It’s heavily based on relationships you have to go based on their schedule like rn super slow bc they don’t like hiring around the holidays so these months itd be tougher to make commission. Takes a few months to a year before you solidify the relationships. Also the salaries are lower

Recruitment is a long term play and constantly building relationships garbage in=garbage out. right now is kind of rough in all industries, build the relationships right and it will pay dividends for years.
