Gifts/Recognition for Top Performing Account

My top performing account is $1k away from breaking their yearly sales record from last year. Some other manufacturers in our industry send out plaques for their top performers but I feel those are a bit impersonal.

They have a decent sized sales team for the industry I am in the 40+ headcount range. The issue I am running into is this will be coming out of my pocket. I want it to be something more than a piece of SWAG that ends up in a desk draw but trying not to break the bank as well.

Anyone else send out EOY gifts to their top performing accounts? Is there anything you would like to receive as a sales person from a vendor?

yikes im not exactly sure what to do for a 40+ person team.

As for me, Im a big gift card guy. give me a gift card and a nice note an im all yours.

Bonus points if I can use it for a night out. I love eating on other peoples dimes. 😂

How much do you ideally want to spend? I mean, would sending over a really nice gift basket full of enough goodies for the entire group be too much? Could you have a nice lunch or after work bbq catered, or are they remote?

Which is probably why plaques are the go-to for recognition.

There are a ton of good ideas here. Gift cards are boring, but work. I like the "big gift for everyone" idea. not that it is less money out of your pocket, rather it is a shared achievement.

I really like this idea. Have one or two accounts I would like to do this for too at Christmas I think.

In a former role, one of our service providers brought us/paid for us for a night out at a local distillery. Even just cover the entrance fee / a round goes a long way.

In the office times, a couple of surprise pizzas/donuts/ice cream are always well received too

Depending where you are, maybe try throwing a reasonably sized dinner/party for them? Somewhere you can agree to an open bar with the owner lmao.

In all seriousness, personally the sentiment goes a long way. For me, if my manager for example takes us out to dinner but can't get the fanciest place in town, I'd still want to go and have a blast with the team after a hard year.

Since this is coming out of your wallet, what is your price range? Are you doing individual gifts or would you rather one big gift?
