It probably gets all students, who come from diverse business backgrounds, on the same page so they can view material and case studies through the same lens.

Considering all the other crap on LinkedIn these days, this isn’t that cringe in comparison. The course is very introductory but if they feel it will make them better and more confident at their job, I say go get-em tiger.
Which is not a bad thing in and of itself, of course. But how prestigious is this course of study in reality?

All it does it increase his likelihood of getting another job I’m pretty sure because the ATS scanner will pick up HBS and put it higher on the list. Could be wrong

Yeah I went through the HBS Negotiating courses. I do not have it listed on LinkedIn or my resume.
Why not? Put it on there!

So what. You put the work, time, and effort in. Be proud of it! What do you have to lose by putting it on there? People take courses all the time to hone their skill set, doesn’t have to be associated with a degree.
Gotta have that sweet sweet HBS logo.
You can learn more on Coursera...just blowing the money to be found on a recruiter's specific search. And if the recruiter is searching for "Harvard" in your education, they probably aren't great either.
