Help with post-interview follow up note

Has anyone seen any good post-interview note templates around here?

I'm interviewing for Enterprise AE roles and was curious about length & breadth of the post-interview thank you/follow up note.

You think people want a long email?

Also, how do you write a wide email?

I typically do something like this:

Thanks for your consideration and insight. I know your time is valuable so I appreciate you allowing me to take extra minutes! I look forward to working with you if I'm lucky enough to join xxx---

I'll also do a quick follow up question if there was something I forgot to ask that is easily answered via email.

I pretty much do this but try to add in one thing we talked about.

Usually it’s something like:
Just a quick note of thanks for your time in meeting to discuss the Sales Monkey position with your company.

Mention something which was brought up in the conversation. Maybe mention how your experience can help you be successful with them.

Don't template, just write a quick note thanking them.

Subject: TRC Next Steps

Hello X,

Thanks for taking the time to go over my experience last week. I found talking about X highlighted the company culture and still think about how I carry those values. Let me know if we can grab a coffee in the near future I'd like to sit and understand your personal perspective on Y, you have a great story/mission/value prop at Company, and I know I can add value to the team.

Looking forward to it,

Short and personal is best, thanking them for the interview and mentioning something key you discussed.

Just a simple thank you and maybe something to follow up like a question or something to give them something to engage with.

here is my suggestion:

1. keep it short and sweet. just a few sentences or 1 paragraph.

2. mention something specific the interviewer said or did that stood out to you.

3. Reconfirm 1 reason why you are excited to work there

4. State what your expectation is for the next step
"i know you mentioned the next step would be to talk to the sales director and I am really looking forward to that opportunity. please let me know if there is a different direction you are looking at taking."

I'd say keep it concise, and if possible mention something you discussed or add in a question you didn't get to

Dug this out of my sent folder for ya. I got the job, btw…

Thank you again for your time today; it was both fun and informative to get to know you as well as learn more about COMPANY! After our discussion, I'm even more confident this is a role I will quickly and confidently excel in based on my experience both as a user and technology sales professional. I look forward to the opportunity to further discuss the expertise I bring to the table to help COMPANY continue to grow affordable and accessible digital classroom solutions within this territory.

I hope you have a stellar weekend, and look forward to connecting with you next week!
