Job salary

-When is it okay to respectfully tell someone how much you make? for example, I recently just graduate college and a lot of my friends always ask me what my starting pay is, even if it's more or less I'm always so hesitant.

-thoughts?

You're in sales now.  Everyone talks about money all of the time.  If you're hesitant to discuss, you aren't making enough and need to beef up your commission.

Or lie.  Whatever.

Eh I guess it depends on the kind of friends you have. If you don't think it'll affect the way they treat/view you and you don't care if they know then fire away. Really depends on the individual.

I honestly don't care who knows how much I make so it doesn't bother me to have that conversation with anyone. Other people are the opposite of myself and don't care to share that info with anyone at all

I totally agree with you no matter how much you earn and we should never feel sorry for touching this conversation

My crew knows each others salaries, doesn't create any resentment, if anything it motivates.

It's always okay to talk about money - who cares unless you're a liar but people can catch on quick. I have a friend who is a "Director of Marketing" (he's the only one at this 10 person firm who has a non-differentiated solution) and insist he makes 300k cash comp a year which is BS.

haha, doubtful. Dudes just insecure and thinks that no one knows how much a "Director of Marketing" makes.

I'm getting major "he's too stupid to be a successful criminal" vibes and it's fantastic.

To establish salaries, initially, companies must begin by having "internal visibility, that is, knowing how functions and positions are distributed; but it is also important to analyze how the labor market behaves in the face of vacancies and demanded profiles"

You need to be talking about this more often. Look from this form we learned that Cybersecurity reps are making a killing base, something I didn't expect to be that big of a difference.

just discuss it if you want to help them. People need benchmarks to know what they are worth and what others are earning.
