Manage UP!

(disclaimer: yes i'm trying to leave this place)

Been managing the SDR team for a while. doing a good job. amazing team, getting results.

I'll be moving out of that role in a few months, maybe. i've been told. but seen no action that demonstrates that will happen.

My approach: show that i'm capable. show them they're wrong if they want to demote me.

What are some day to day steps I can take to give visibility to the higher ups about the results i'm getting out of my team? the disrespect and egos coming from up above are making me insane.

Reading your replies...this seems like an uneasy situation to be in with new leadership demoting you. Sorry you're going through this.
My #1 piece of advice would be to document everything. Show KPI's and any data proving your impact.
With the added responsibilities...was there a bump in pay?

This is exactly how I would have answered this question.

It's going to cost the company less money I'm assuming to have you continue your role, increase your pay, and assign you those responsibilities than it would be to pay someone new to come in and take 3 months to learn and MAYBE do as good of a job.

Keep us posted.

If youโ€™re getting results, itโ€™s obvious thereโ€™s 1 or more SDRs in your team hitting their meetings and opp numbers.

Maybe highlight their achievements of last month / quarter over an email and fire it up ? Like a quick appreciation email ?

I can only imagine how deflating this must be. If it were me, I would document improvements/metrics. Who knows what their motivations are if youโ€™re doing a great jobโ€” budget cuts may be a factor. In the meantime, keep your chin up and always have a plan B. No position is guaranteed. In the end, be with a company who appreciates and respects what you bring to the table. Remember.. youโ€™re a LION!! ๐Ÿฆ

This might work (Try to let em know that you were accepted for a similar position at a different company but you preferred to stay for a mutual benefit for the two of you and that you could give your current place more than anyone else or anywhere else, if they took it great, if not try to actually find a different company that would get you what they couldn't).Recommend you not to leave till you actually find a better opportunity.Best of luck๐Ÿ‘

Would you be able to add more on what is going on? By "moving out of the role" do you mean demoted?
What is the feedback you are receiving that is causing you to think that?
Based on quota/KPI what are the % and rank of your team?

demoted yes. "we are bringing in a strong leader from the outside!"...no feedback. absolutely none. new CCO came in and didn't talk to me, i took a few weeks of parental leave, then he talked to me and broke the news. then a few days later said we didn't have budget to hire that person. gave me extra job responsibilities, but i'm still managing as well. No clear direction where i'm headed
a total masterclass in leadership right?!

I'm going to go with DetGib above and encourage you to document everything. They need to be much more communicative. This is definitely not right.

When you go and sell a product, I am sure you sell more than feature/advantage/benefit. You take the time to learn your customer's frustrations and hang-ups and speak to whatever their headaches are.

Now apply that to your managers.

A mistake I see a lot is salespeople and middle management focus so much on KPIs they forget the people up the ladder are human beings. The same way simply sending your customer a spread sheet does not sell a product, sending your manager KPI reports will not put you in their good graces.

Take the time to figure out what they are most frustrated about and see if there are ways to help them solve their problems rather than just looking at the dollars and cents. If your numbers are good, they will speak for themselves. You just have to give them a reason to listen to you over someone else.
