Hello Sales Gurus!

You look amazing, by the way!!! ; )

Today I come to you with a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on someone's life - mine, to be exact. No, seriously. I'm on a mission to find my first tech sales job, and I could use some help making it happen. If you know anyone in the tech industry who's looking for a salesperson, entry-level sales engineer, or solutions engineer, please send them my way! I work hard, learn fast, and will make everyone proud. If you don't have any leads, don't worry! I still value your insight and advice.

If you've read this far, thank you! May your days be blessed and your sales exceed your expectations!

Hi Treniese - welcome!

High encouragement to dive into the Tech Sales U to get your feet wet.

It'll likely be a little redundant, but I found it useful in brushing up on some skills. You also could toss the certification after completing into your LinkedIn Profile.

Ok, Thank you!
I'm new to the platform and never even heard of Tech U. I'll definitely do as you advised.

Hi Treniese, wish you all the best of luck first of all. Apart from being on top of job ads, what I always advise is that you tap into all of your connections, friends, and ex-colleagues and ask if there`s an opening where they are working. Just start spreading the word (as you are doing here) and I promise things will show up :)

In the meantime, make sure you have a complete LinkedIn profile, a ready CV.

Good luck again!

Treniese thanks for posting in the War Room! You for sure not alone in trying to break into the tech world.

Most people looking for a new career will fill out a profile in the "jobs" tab.

As far as advice, i generally tell ppl a few things:

1. make sure you spend time thinking about what you want in a your new career. (what type of product do you want to sell, who do you want to sell too, what do you want the job to look like ect.)
2. if you dont have tech experience then think about the companies you have worked for in the past, what tech were you an end user of, that you could try and be on the sales side?

Treniese, while I can appreciate your appeal in this post, I do have to ask—as an enrollee in Careerist, are you not assisted in finding a job by the program?

Are they not meeting your expectations in placement and career support?

Hi,
Thank you for replying.
I have assistance as far as resume/cv review and sales training. However, finding a job is on me.

That seems misleading from what I read on their site.

Have you found other program graduates to network with and gain referrals?

Currently, combing through Linkedin and sending connection requests to alums. One person responded but it seems all the current students are doing the same. That's how I ended up here. I never heard of this platform but, after a couple of Google searches Bravado popped up. i just decided to put a few irons in the fire over here.

Got it—well best of luck. You’ll notice most of us ar anonymous, so it’ll be hard to get direct intros. However, I’m sure someone can drop a few company names or maybe @Gasty can make an SE hiring post.

Welcome, Treniese! Both Gasty and CorporateBro have posted about companies that are hiring, if you search these forums. You might want to take a look at what's there to see if there's anything suitable or interesting, and keep your eyes open for more posts about openings from Gasty.

Does your alma mater have any placement capabilities? If you're a newer grad, that could be a great way to get your foot in the door somewhere.

Hey there, (tra-niece). First of all, I think your name is a cool one. Second, we work closely with a few large and several s/m FinTech companies that are definitely hiring for what you’re looking for. This is when LinkedIn can be a great asset for somebody!

Hi 👋🏾
Thank you for the compliment. Quick cool note: my mom thought of my name as a tribute for my two God-sisters, Tracey and Shawniese. 😉
Would you be willing to connect on LinkedIn? I know anonymity is valued here so, I'm ok if the answer is no.
