New AE paid lot less

Currently am AE making $75k base $150k OTE. Our team is hiring same role for $45k base $90k OTE. Should I be concerned they will fire us and hire new reps at substantially less pay?

Is it jr vs sr AE? Is there a different market like MM ve Ent? You should also ask, but that’s what is sounds like. As long as you are hitting your numbers, you should be golden.

You should ask your Director/VP to see where you stand, but after you hit your numbers ;)

If they perform at least to 50% of your output its likely theyll replace you with 2 but it could just be a case of cutting costs going forward in a more talent saturated market.
As long as you're hitting quota i wouldnt stress

Are you making quota? If you're consistently hitting your target, then this may be a case of them simply cutting costs moving forward, as it's a buyer's market for talent. I definitely wouldn't slack, and it's never a bad thing to be a little paranoid. Keep an eye on the situation, but don't panic.

id start looking, that just seems like a disaster in the making, bc if I joined at 45k and ik you're making 75k and were the same role and seniority id be pissed, and if I outproduced you as well id throw a fit

If you are performing well there are chances you are safe but are they hiring more AEs or just a few? Do you know if any of your colleagues are leaving?
I would be cautious; looking for a new role doesn't hurt.

Nobody here is even close to hitting quota. I’m top 20% of the reps and was 60% quota last quarter

Quota is unobtainable AND they're cutting pay for the role?!?
That's a bold move by management.

If your hitting your targets consistently, theirs no way they will remove you. Also experience matters. This is all my opinion...

Nah, I think I got into sales because my pay was so ridiculously low and I didn't know I should be making twice the number... They will grow and probably leave for better opportunities

More than likely they realize they can pay less and get the same results out of a new AE. Very typical in the smb space in my opinion where there are no territories and it’s a numbers game
