Next booming industry?

Genuinely curious about peoples thoughts. What industry do you all see as becoming the next hot spot for AE's? Tech has taken a massive hit the last 2-3 years and though its not going anywhere, the way that these booming tech companies were originally measured is not the same. Any thoughts here? Where do you see yourself going next, if you were to leave a tech sales job?

Anything which captures the discretionary income of the baby boomer generation. So look at life style enhancements, medical procedures, etc.

Good point. Taking into account demographic changes is key.

They just painted a court onto the park by my house. No nets up yet, but it's such a strange sport.
I've seen 80 year olds playing tennis, but even millennials are starting to play pickleball.

I can see the next frontier being AI/ML once they can get to a point where it's easily accessible/consumable to a wider audience. At this time, most of these tools are highly sophisticated and require a specific set of skills for them to be deployable. I'm currently taking an AI course from Google and it's absolutely fascinating. We haven't even scratched the surface of what it can theoretically do.

Problem with AI right now is that most of it isn't AI - its just algorithm + marketing. We'll get to real AI soon enough, but the hype is overwhelming right now.

This is already big. I think tax credits are the next big wave, but still not going to be as booming as we think.

I think it will remain tech. AI will really fuel this. But it's going to become very use-case specific.

MY sense is that operational planning (supply chain, factory scheduling, erp, etc...) and Cyber will be the big wave to ride in the next 5 - 10 years. So, essentially B2B tech.

All this macroeconomic change, and the continuing internet-connected-everything push, will ensure that both of those areas remain high-value.

I think B2C tech is already seeing a peak and will start to slow down as all this volatility continues to entrench itself at the individual wallet level.

Iโ€™m not sure. Iโ€™ve heard from multiple people in F500 companies that they are partnering with more than 1 AI provider for segregated access. I can see it as extremely useful for high local document scraping and research - law, consulting, anything compliance. Just gotta find the use cases.

Renewable energy and sustainability. Healthcare and biotechnology. Artificial intelligence and machine learning, I'm personally excited about bitcoin, the internets first native currency, helping AI scale and vice versa. Cybersecurity, going to be a lot of people trying to hack others and steal private keys. E-commerce and logistics

AI is the next bubble obviously, following that I'd look at nearshoring manufacturing/supply chain/logistics as the trade war continues between China (BRICS) and the West.
