Ok fire comments will continue documenting my 2 WFH jobs

I don't want it to be easily found the stories only for those who exhausts themselves searching...why you ask? because I invited plenty of my co-workers into Bravado and last thing I want them to do is find out about this...

Advise to my fellow savages...

So I starting testing my 1st employer with a "fake" 2nd job guess what was it in? Real Estate...so they didn't do anything about it and upon reviewing my contract I was reminded that I am in the end of the day a contractor/consultant so as long as I don't take my talents to the competition and the results are going in no one has the right to do anything...So I was emboldened.

Personal network from my previous industry reached out and asked that I join...I said im want to be part-time they said no, I was like ok full-time but you know as a contractor I'm not obligated to anything but not working to competitors and so was mentioned in the contract. there was the annex about working 9-5 im like sure they mailed the laptop and I open it on time.

Close call I almost had a conflict on the weekly meeting for a demo. Luckily managed to move the demo around...and will have the weekly meeting.

Good thing about 2nd job: monthly targets better base pay

Bad thing: shitty accounts to work with and kind of a scrappy company so needs some effort to build a reputation.

Another plus is that it seems the "head" is working another job with clear like I start work midday. He mentioned I'm like you have two jobs...didn't fall for the trap of confirming or denying just maintained that I'm not allowed to announce that I work for you guys because of my previous employer (not the one I'm juggling the time with - but their competitor) so they respected that and they are not active on Linkedin and the industry itself isn't really a linkedin one except for recruitment.

Most of the WR wins would be from my AE job. not from the AM one.

Why did I take this risk? well I asked my dad who is also a lawyer he was like why not? better take it an double your income than living with "what ifs" and honestly thank the Lord I did. I feel like there is a buffer of extra cash that being just married I totally needed it.

Advise to everyone: if you do this keep it to yourself like literally even my wife doesn't know...the only one who knows are you guys and my dad because he is my lawyer.

How do I explain two laptops? 1 for work and 1 for backup I never leave shit to chance.

Working 2 โ€œ9-5โ€ jobs is tough. Hard to serve two masters. Good luck with it though.

I agree - but my jobs are results oriented so it's not really 9-5 although it is expected to show up then.

If you hit your target in any or both no one will care how you spend your time so think yourself as a consultant that is actually helping both companies achieve max revenue.
I stopped thinking of myself as an employee but actually like a consultant like stated in the contract lol - bear in mind both of my masters are not in my country so none of them are contributing for my social, pension, etc...

Honestly, I hate the "what if" so I just took it and be like if I fail I fail but I fail with double of my potential income

This is a book waiting to be written. Last question- and I really don't expect a fast reply- do both gigs have different email/calendar setups? Are the calendars visible to management? If so, do you sync them to another?

No one syncs on google the other is on microsoft, i sync the microsoft one manually on samsung as it automatically syncs the Google ones. And I simply block both for any reason i want.

Better do things manually to have complete control on your time. Once you relinquish control things get conflicted easy. You want to put the effort there.

Checked it out for sure...and have implemented several things like two seperate laptops...solid control on my calander...
I work with SDRs no one is allowed to book me without a 3 hour notice for instance. Buffers post calls to be scheduled.

I work in tech btw but again those tips i mentioned work for everyone.

I ask them to use something called demodesk which basically i set the rules of how the meets operate etc...highly recommend it. Because it has these rules executed and when someone wants to books something thay breakes those rules you get asked, enough time to think and plan

You can explain 2 laptops - people have multiple laptops all the time. Personal laptop, recreational laptop, wife's laptop: Cook 'em lies like you cook dinner.
Hard to hold two 9-5 jobs for sure, you can have side gigs, weekend gigs: But then again, if you are able to do it, good for you.
Rule-1: Don't invite your colleagues in here, if you are already moonlighting with two full time jobs.

Rule-2: Have separate laptops, yes. But have a calendar (FOR YOURSELF STRICTLY THAT YOU NEVER ACCIDENTALLY SHARE WHILE SHARING SCREEN) where you see both the jobs and their calls clearly. Helps you prep better.

Agree with cookin them lies...just a bit easier if you are not married if you are you kinda owe it to your sf to explain expenses...at least im the breadwinner here so i shouldn't be splurging.

Rule 1: no brainer - im as far as any of my colleagues are...the closest one is 200 miles away and we never bother to meet up.

Rule 2 i give my sdrs edit access to book meetings and noticed that my boss and colleagues block often their calanders with labels like "not available" , "busy" "blocked" and no one cares nor asks you to explain.

Rule 2.1: for me the calander that has both is the phone calander. Samsung calander very seperate will never be synced with both any of the two laptops more like on the recieving end.

I know, but honestly I seem to not find any other way to double my income. As well as i have 5 year xp in my am role so yea. Im not budgetting my personal finances with that new income. That goes straight to investment. That is my form of mitigation

Best way to get a remote sales job if non-US citizen?

Question

Has massive growth ever led to mental breakdown? I have been hustling since 17 years old chasing to strive for success doing odd jobs and unintentionally ended up with Edtech K12 Sales as my first official sales job - A toxic culture with no employee respect eventually me to switch after 18 months. Since reps in Edtech are highly valued, had no option but to continue in Edtech sales. This time it was higher education segment, things looked good in the first few month but slowly it started adapting methodologies like the old Edtech since the management was changed. I decided to move out and switch to B2B SaaS. After 13 months of learning & success, my aspirations werenโ€™t matching with the growth vision shared by my manager and ended up being desperate to switch. Got to a AM-Inside Sales role with a 50% hike. Guess what? It led to my mental break down since the culture is pathetic. In entire journey, all challenges never affected my performance but l am losing the spark to glow and hustle eventually. While I plan to switch, a token of guilt is still alive. The experiences have made me far better and strong as a BDR but blank about the next steps in my career. Thanks for reading. Do share your thoughts.
