Possible stupid question ๐Ÿค”

I'm an sdr and want to use a parallel dialer. This is something I would be paying for, should I or do I let my manager and/or our IT department know about it?

It's a chrome extension but it integrates with our SF & Salesloft...

Exactly, don't pay for it yourself. You owe the company nothing but your hard work. Any tool that would help you, will ultimately help the company. That's their responsibility to pay for it, as long as you can make a case for it.

I'm pretty new less than 6 months and it's only 4 sdrs But I get where you are coming from.

You might not have the permissions to set it up with your CRM yourself.

Also, don't pay out of pocket.

Make a business case for them to buy it.

Talk to your manager. You're not an independent consultant, you're an employee, and they should be enabling you and paying for tools that will do that. Be prepared to explain why it will help your performance and justify the cost. Also be prepared for them to say no.

I do have a visceral reaction to people feeling as though they need to supplement their employer by personally paying for tools that help the company make money.

It's only 4 sdrs and my org only invests in tools if the account manager's ask for it. But they do not do ANY outbound prospecting. Just today one of the sdrs asked about getting Lavender.ai & our manager said they company would not pay for it. It's just a pain to dial from Salesloft

Do you provide leads for your AMs? Maybe you can get some support for building a business case. You sound like you have some experience- leverage that to talk to your manager about the performance improvement that will lead to more meetings and more revenue.

Whenever youโ€™re in doubt whether to buy something on your own or seek approval for budget - always pick the later :)

Talking out of experience here, typing on an iPhone paid by the company (even though they offered a Samsung first ๐Ÿ˜…)

As everyone mentioned, donโ€™t install anything/purchase anything yourself. Let the manager know, if you donโ€™t have anything standardized for outbound make a case, explain how it will help and whatโ€™s the expected ROI. All the best

As the head of RevOps, Iโ€™d make it very difficult for you to integrate that alone. If you could, and infosec didnโ€™t catch itโ€ฆyou should let me know the name of your company so I can launch a ransomware ploy ๐Ÿ˜‚

I guess that your access to that dialer will be restricted unless it would be approved by your manager first, you have to lhk to avoid being penalized if he wasn't aligned and didn't welcome the idea.
If I were you I would ask for the new dialer to be installed by the company why should I pay for it,just try to pitch that it will enhance your performance somehow and see how it works!

Absolutely don't pay for it yourself. Reason 1: You shouldn't have to. Reason 2: Your company may have some type of security approval process, and it would be very detrimental if you inadvertently violated it.

Would be happy to talk to your manager about the benefits of it, and how much of a difference it makes if you feel comfortable making a connection.

My SDRs use ConnectAndSell, and it is such a powerful tool in terms of productivity.

I would first talk to your manager before footing the bill yourself. I would also provide a compelling reason for why this tool would assist you in your sales efforts.
