PROMOTION GROWING PAINS

Hi y'all, I've been silent for some time, getting things rolling at the new company, going through changes, people quitting, getting offers, then my company fighting for me, and eventually getting me promoted to SDR Lead, which it's awesome! Buuuuuut, now I've gotta do so much more to make sure everyone hits their quota, talk about growing pains!

With all said and done, to those who have gone through similar transitions, what are some of the things you did that made the transition from being a BDR to a leader easier?

Congrats!!

Lead from the back. Be curious. Have humility. Ask for feedback from your team. Enable them. Encourage risk taking.

LETS GO! Great work and congrats on the promotion. I haven't made that transition, but one thing I can remember from my SDR days that made me appreciate good team leads: empathy.

The SDR game is brutal, soul-sucking one. The team leads that could best empathize were the ones that got the best results from me. Level with your team.

Good luck!

Found a good mentor. Someone who did it 1+ years ago, and someone that you can trust. It's the most invaluable investment you can make in yourself.

Put yourself in their shoes. What do YOU want in a leader and be that person.

Be available but let them learn on their own too.
Be understanding but tough.
Let them make mistakes but make sure the mistakes aren't too costly.

Good luck!

Congrats.
I believe that "A Better Knowledge Leads to A Better Management" .
I recommend you to know your team more, that will definitely help you out besides knowing their numbers before you came in, to identify their points of strength to build on and points of weakness to work on.
