Recruiters cold calling??

Anyone else dealing with an uptick of recruiters cold calling you randomly? I get the usual linkedin messages and vidyard videos but really havent had recruiters pick up the phone and call me.

For you all, does this make you more, or less, likely to talk to them?

I havnt had anyone call me but ive had some text me.

it does not make me want to talk to them, but its not the method of outreach its the lack of reason for wanting to talk to me .

"your background is impressive" doesnt do it for me

Was just thinking the same. I'd probably treat it like I do the LinkedIn in mails. If they can show me immediately that they've at least looked at my LinkedIn and explain really quickly why I should be interested then I'm all ears. Otherwise it's a fast no.

I've been texted but never cold called. To be honest, depending on how they opened the call, I'd be likely to listen just out of respect for the cold call. Unless of course it was painfully obvious they didn't do their homework and are just dialing a list blindly.

I had someone call me yesterday. I've been placed by her group before, but it was literally for the job I just left.

Other than that, it's mostly been LI.

I got a call yesterday and I loved it. 5 minute call was the equivalent of maybe 2 days of emailing.

Definitely received an uptick myself—I always like to hear the new opportunities personally, but usually I like to hit them with the ol’ 1, 2:
“Hey Joe, real quick, could you just e-mail me the information? I’m kinda busy right now” 🤪🥴😉

I’ll talk to any recruiter with the balls to cold call me, unless their English is so bad I can’t understand them.

Why? In todays age of mass emails and impersonal communications, I will always pay more attention to the person who makes the extra effort to actually talk to me.

My wife is in recruiting and they’ve been going HAM lately, searching the layoff lists of companies. They aren’t cold calling which is interesting.. I always assume those companies are trash because the good orgs know they’re good, and people reach out to them

I haven't but, they certainly should be. When I was in the industry, it was all cold-calling, all the time.

Given the labour shortages now: anyone who isn't picking up the phone probably isn't making placements. Doesn't surprise me if there's an uptick.

I’ve been cold called by recruiters. I’d love a new job offer and all but when it is painfully obvious you read nothing more than my job title, you can kick rocks. <br><br>Also, if you are looking for any kind of sales professional, maybe try to not cold call them the last few days of the quarter? Fucking novice.

Once your number is in the CRM the calls will happen, thats why its always big to not talk to a staffing agency unless you really like the opportunity

I've only had it happen a few times, but it's interesting receiving a cold call. I'll listen because I'd be a major hypocrite if I didn't and it's cool to see people who are great at it.

My pet peeves are when they hide any company info. I get that they only get paid if you go through them, but what I don't think they understand is that I absolutely hate the job application process. I'm essentially "hiring" them to do all of the annoying application stuff and fast tracking me to an interview.
