Representing "ramp-up" period on resume

Anyone have thoughts on representing a "ramp-up" period in new territory?

I started in a new territory a few months ago. Quota was not pro-rated and enterprise deal cycles are several months long. I did not make quota until several months in.

Is there a way to explain this so that a recruiter does not totally overlook my resume at first glance?

Don’t include it? Or put “ramp” during those times. No one confirms most things.

Would it seem strange to not have every quarter you've been in the role "covered" on the resume?

I think it would be strange to have any quarters listed. Call out your accomplishments. It doesn’t need to be play by play. What if you’re there 5 years. Still gonna list the first 2 quarters?

Agree with @oldcloser - it's not a report card. Highlight the times you killed it.

I would put my total attainment during tenure with the company, be it 6 months or several years. Putting each quarter is too granular imo.

Also subject to nitpick, and tbh it looks like bullshit.

Yea very true. Not many people have that tracked over their career

“After x months, made or exceeded quota each quarter, with a sales cycle of y-x months”. Or something along those lines. Whatever makes it look as though you got up to speed as expected (or sooner than expected) based on the sales cycle.

I have a similar concern for one of the companies I worked with - this helps, thanks !

Glad it's helpful. CV is intended to showcase your skills, capabilities, and achievements. Some weird ramp or lack thereof shouldn't stop things, and certainly specifics could be discussed during the interview, if it's even that important.

In a lot of companies you won't make quota right away. Just focus on your learnings

This is the case in most companies, I find.

Just include the info on quarters you did well when asked. Say you didn't receive a ramp quota so missed it since I was focused on learning and deal cycle length didn't allow me to meet it

Leave it out or include metrics on pipe gen, meetings set/held - any vanity metric that looks good.
