8,000 at around $150k a year is $1.2B. A couple million is a rounding error. I also heard they got consultants in to get the cuts identified due to market reactions.

Although Salesforce is one of the very few SaaS companies that are actually turning a profit.

Nothing looks good when you spend money when cutting costs. In reality, those people weren’t critical and growth is always creatively when your company is public and your stock trades on a growth multiple.

I'm going to totally date myself - but I had a flashback to a scene in Time Bandits where one business skyscraper drives like a pirate ship toward another for a takeover. I can totally see McConaughey as a corporate pirate at the helm of the SF Tower as it glides across the street to take on a neighbor building.
