8,000 at around $150k a year is $1.2B. A couple million is a rounding error. I also heard they got consultants in to get the cuts identified due to market reactions.

I totally agree but it still is not a smart move from a PR standpoint. Although Salesforce is one of the very few SaaS companies that are actually turning a profit.

Nothing looks good when you spend money when cutting costs. In reality, those people weren’t critical and growth is always creatively when your company is public and your stock trades on a growth multiple.

I'm going to totally date myself - but I had a flashback to a scene in Time Bandits where one business skyscraper drives like a pirate ship toward another for a takeover. I can totally see McConaughey as a corporate pirate at the helm of the SF Tower as it glides across the street to take on a neighbor building.

OMG, it's a bizarre 80s classic. Including the final line, which I will not spoil, which will haunt you forever. Edit: It's a Terry Gilliam movie with Michael Palin and John Cleese...so if you're a Monty Python fan, you'll probably enjoy it.

I don’t blame him. This is Salesforce IMO, do you think he reached out to them for a deal?
