"Send me an email"

We've all heard this objection when we're making our cold calls, and it can be a difficult one to overcome because the majority of the time it's somebody just trying to get you off the phone. Although in some cases, some people actually are interested.

So how you can figure out who is serious and who is not? And how we deal with sending them information? Wanted to pose this to the community as I know everyone has a unique way of dealing with this!

"Sure, I can do that...but what exactly do you want me to send?"

Wait for that scrambling tone to come through the phone.

Whenever I tell someone to send me an email I am hoping they won't...but I wish a rep would ask me this.

What would you reply if the rep asks.

Completely depends on who I am talking to and what they are calling about. If it's a platform that I am interested in I want to see a case study, pricing, video demo, etc. If I don't want to learn more I really just tell them I will reach out to them in the future.

Tracking software. Get their email (they volunteer or you mine it) and then send them a tracked email. If they open it call them if they donโ€™t call them anyways and ask if they got your email. Do it till you get a meeting or they decline.

Call them back after they decline and tell them to move forward anyway

I always like to start by saying a "Yes", however, you might want to tell them that you don't want to overwhelm their inbox and hence if you can get into understanding a bit more on what's their current challenge etc. If the prospect can spare a minute there to answer you that means he surely has a pain point. Regardless, you can put them into cadence, if they book a time then good orelse move ahead.

send the email with some good info, if you have the software you can see when they open, click, and forward the email which is helpful, also then follow up a couple days after.ย

Iโ€™ll send the email with a bunch of information, but that jabroni better believe heโ€™s gonna get a follow up call to see if he got my email

โ€œTotally happy to send you an emailโ€ฆ Whatโ€™s your email address?โ€<br>โ€œNow let me ask, sometimes our product emails can be a little wordy, and Iโ€™d hate for you to take 10 minutes to read something and have a question and me not be able to answer it for you. With that in mind, letโ€™s hop on a Zoom or phone call for those 10 minutes tomorrow to go over the info just so I can answer any questions you have. 10 or 11?โ€

โ€œHey customer, Iโ€™ve been doing this for a while and sometimes people say that when they just want me to leave them alone. Is that what this is?โ€
If thatโ€™s what it is, cool, on to the next one, send general marketing copy, throw them in the hopper for next quarter
If any other answer, โ€œok great - so what info are you looking for in particular? Iโ€™ve got a ton of resources and want to make sure I send the most relevant stuff.โ€
I like this approach personally as I find it develops trust. Iโ€™ve had people fess up and admit they were trying to shake me call back months later when theyโ€™re ready. Iโ€™ve also had this provide tons of clarity to actual deal drivers. Either way I just try to be straight up and call BS when I smell it, I like to think legit buyers appreciate that.

I've seen a few people say this already so at the risk of being a parrot...I always tell them something along the lines of "I'd love to get you more information but I also don't want to bore you with something not relevant on. Whats most important to you?" Then you can follow up with "how's that being handled now" So if you could make improvements to that what would they be?" Or something along those lines. Now you're sending targeting information, got them thinking about some pains and you uncovered a bit about their current process.

"No problem but hey, is that just a polite way to tell me to kick rocks?" (Pause)ย

If they say no, then transition to what specifically to send over.ย ย

If they say yes, have a good chuckle and move on with your life.ย ย

I think over time you can gauge the personality or the voice. Iโ€™ve had people that say send it to sales@ and that literally is there email but equally you get the negative result.
Depends on the person you are speaking to.
Not very useful me saying this because what you are asking is a sales problem that we all want the answer to!
