So, I realize this isn't the direction we're going but..

Hi Savages,

Relevant topics bolded if you're a TL;DR person.

Fully expecting for downvotes to rain like pink slips at Oracle when it discovers it's paying more salespeople than the bare minimum to succeed. I realize that I'm going to come across as "the why can't we just all get along" person in marketing. Oh well. I personally want to see what Corp and Sahil do if they strike it rich. Come on, you don't want to see what Corp would do with millions of dollars?

We seem to have ratcheted up the toxicity in the past few weeks. I am absolutely a guilty party in this but here are some suggestions to make us lower the temperature just a bit.

-We have a lot of people whose first language is not English that have joined our ranks. I didn't realize the scale of this until today. Some of us, myself included, have pounced on people for grammar/spelling before realizing that the poster wasn't a native speaker. I would encourage folks who are working with translation services or still working on their English skills to let us know. We're happy to help you get better! I know several people have expressed interest in communicating in other languages on the platform. That's great as well.

However, some of y'all just can't fucking write and you need to work on that.

-Please, please use the search bar and do your research before you post about a topic. As @poweredbycaffeine said, there is a ton of good stuff on here if you're willing to look for it. And reviving an old thread by posting on it, tagging people who didn't post there, etc., is perfectly fine!

-For those of us who have been here a while, let's practice a little bit more patience. I know it's irritating to see song posts and the like. But we can just skip those rather than commenting aggressively or posting definitions from the dictionary (which was funny, whoever did that first).

-New people - Understand that a lot has happened before you got here. I've been posting with @paddy , @funcoupons , @CuriousFox , @BigMeech , @Chep , @poweredbycaffeine etc., (no offense to y'all I didn't tag directly) for months. I've gotten a lot of value from them and I hope they have from me. But when you come in and start taking shots at these people, you're probably going to piss a bunch of people off who have built, for lack of a better word, relationships with them on this platform. They're gonna clap back in legion.

-Chill with the direct attacks across the board - Not helpful. I have to deal with enough petty bullshit with delivery and would like to focus on defeating them.

End soapbox speech. Toto blesses my downvotes in Africa.

Much respect, Cane.

I obviously make my fair share of jokes and jabs, but I also know the value I've brought and continue to bring to the table in serious conversation (same goes for the others you mentioned and some other unmentioned users as well.)

There's been a lot of recent shit talking about "Officers." Just to clue in anyone new, Officers are given that badge by Bravado as recognition for being valued members of the community. It doesn't come from number of posts or commission. So when people come in here talking shit and being hostile right out the gate, they're being disrespectful to the Bravado team who work their asses off to keep this place running and actually pay people to participate. This is why it's annoying as hell to us vets to see people commission farming (and its easy to recognize intentional farming vs someone double posting in good faith or just figuring out how this place works) and spamming... It just devalues the community we've witnessed  being built and helped buildfor months now.

Nobody hurts my feelings with their little insults. I'm in sales so I don't have any feelings left, duh. But realize that if you come in here and start talking shit to/about well liked and well respected posters, you're not going to be received warmly. We are savages after all. Doesn't mean you need to kiss anyone's ass but you do have the option to exit a thread, not interact with certain people, and create your own posts at any point in time.

I want new posters to feel welcome in this community and I know the other vets do too. My word of advice is to treat your first few days here like your first few days at work. Observe, ask questions, be friendly, and find ways you can offer value be it with awesome knowledge, advice, lively conversation, and yes - even the odd well thought out shit post.  Or post a bunch of bullshit and get flamed, but don't cry about it. Your choice.

PS - If any of you are upset by today's conflict I will allow you to come over and kick the SDR under my desk as hard as you can one time. Does wonders for getting out aggression. See? I'm not so mean after all...

Using the search feature is so important, and treating people decently should be the bare minimum. My one complaint with the app (that I’m posting on now) is I don’t see the search bar anywhere obvious and I’m wondering if I’m blind. Some little changes will help improve this place but so far War Room has been solid. It’s like r/sales, but a little more laid back and with a broader reach I feel like.
