State of your org in Tech Sales?

Curious about the community. The news is nonstop negative nancy since that is what drives clicks and eyeballs.

My company is growing, acquiring, and adding headcount, and we have not stopped over the last 3 years. (3 acquisitions last year) Things are very healthy and headed in a good direction.

I wanted to poll to group to see where your org lies?

Org health: Up, Down, or Flat?

Hiring 200 more people by the end of the year and closing a funding round this quarter.
We're doing quite well.

We're an established SaaS company - I'd say treading water as hiring slowed to a HALT this week.

Better to slowing hiring than sending people out. Curious, when you say established - how many years / size?

Agreed and I was sadly of victim of this a few months ago, laid off at a startup that 5x its sales force.
30+ years, 10,000+ employees.
They are typically quite careful, but it was still interesting to see most openings pulled in a few days.

Well I'm certainly sorry to hear that, but glad you seem to have landed on your feet quickly after with a solid org. Hopefully large and stable works out better than small and "nimble" for you.For reference after our acquisitions I think we're closing in on 1000 EEs. Different parts of the org are older than others, my original company was over 50 years old, the OG in the industry. The company that acquired us, is now about 10.

Treading I think, but looks like they just started hiring again. So either someone is about to lose their job, or they changed their minds.

We are in the same boat but haven’t seen the the benefit of acquisition though there is a lot of synergy.

Good to hear things are headed up for your org. Sometimes not making the wrong acquisition is the best decision your leadership can make. Taking on someone else's problems is only worth it if they bring a whole lot to the table.

I was fully prepared to witness a lopsided result. But it's good to know so many businesses are still on a hiring spree, reaching for the stars!

Great first post, @SalesinSeattle, and welcome to the War Room! (I know you joined in Aug)

It's definitely been the type of market in the last few months where we see who's been swimming naked as the tide goes out (to paraphrase Buffett)!
Our company is fairly conservative by nature (which is funny since it's been a high-growth SaaS company), but that means that while every single one of our competitors has been laying off, we've been hiring strategically. Big competitive differentiator, frankly, to be able to articulate that.
