Sunday Scaries

Are Sunday Scaries part of every sales career, start to end?  

Or is there a point where it smoothens out? (some wishful thinking huh) 

Quota attainment is certainly one aspect, but while I'm personally covered, pressure is still felt, because overall team attainment is low (some quotas are different to represent different OTEs👀, I'm on the good side of things). 

Do I get to take my boss of my back when I hit quota this year (again) - or are Sundays going to be brutal expecting someone to dissect all my deals while I've been hitting?

(Hidden choice, ask for a CHUNKY raise that matches other AEs so I can have bigger goals - I mean...since it looks like pressure will be there anyways)

there will always be an aspect of this. becuase we will always have something to worry about. but thats not just with sales thats just life homie.

but the drear of going to work on monday should NOT be somehting that is always there.

its a sign that something is not right.

I used to have them bad when I had 1:1s with the manager on Monday and I didn’t have any pipeline. When we moved them to Friday and it helped a lot

I always found if you don't have real stuff to talk to you manager on and you are dreading the meeting, create an agenda and take the reins of the meeting so you can steer it. Makes them feel like you are professional without letting them poke holes in your lack of pipe/forecast. They usually compliment the preparation and professionalism and don't realize it's a smoke screen. Bonus points for some printouts and/or slide deck.

I now do this for any meeting I don't have a mic drop or solid gold lined up for and it's the best thing I've ever added to my bullshitter gunbelt.

It’s mostly when we’re in need of ARR and we have to push for more meetings so we can report to the board.

Funny you say this, we had our 1:1 pushed to Fri because of clashes instead of Tuesdays, and it went reallly good.

Anyways - pipeline cures everything I guess lol

I never heard of Sunday Scaries until a post here a few months back.

Most people have some kind of anxiety tied to work. This isn’t unique, despite the cutesy, unnecessary name for it.

@Sunbunny31 accurately described it as work related anxiety that just get to you as dread to go to work on Monday. It smoothens out as the week progresses.
