Would be enlightening for a Board of Directors or two to read the article, and take action.
Interesting take on the ineffectiveness of layoffs for many reasons.

I wonder how these CEOs will do in the future? You would like to think this will be a black mark on their resume with having to fire so many ppl…..sadly i doubt it will

A former director of mine once told me something that was truly hysterical and true. Once you are past an IC or IC manager role the position is largely politics and you have very little control over outcomes and need to be ok with that/ do what is in your control to the best of your abilities.

That does sound about right except for at the C level. Anybody in the middle - I can see that.

Why not both? Honestly, the over hiring is to make sure you can scale quickly and not get caught out if something new takes over. So it was inevitable. Most of the staff is looking for the new thing, so I see a lot of opportunities for PE to acquire and cut.

Considering you posted an article and stated about firing, I gave insight on another factor that is often overlooked.

They shouldn’t be just fired. They should have to do their job for $0. $280m is outrageous.

They won't show any decency unless we hold them accountable. Even vishal garg is doing press with goldman sachs partners again. Guy lives like a king in Tribeca, because nobody holds him accountable

I agree with the article that layoffs won't solve problems — cutting workers won't suddenly make the companies more productive or improve their products. Companies need to grow their revenue. The one thing that gets a company back on track is growing revenue. That's where AEs, SDRs, and the rest come in. Companies that understand not to cut these roles when times are tough are the ones that shine on the other end of the slowdown. Full Stop.

I am sick and tired of looking for jobs in Sales. A nurse and a construction engineer get jobs in Tech Sales, while a product owner has to beg them on LinkedIn for an opportunity to prove himself.
