Thoughts on this 'take home test?' Is this normal? Advice?

I just graduated college and I'm gunning for SDR roles. Anyone ever got anything like this?

This feels like the baseline of what you'll do in the role.

Please for the love of fuck do not use ChatGPT to do this.

Do some simple research, or read my post about the technique called Why You, Why You Now: https://bravado.co/war-room/posts/outbound-email-tip-of-the-week-why-you-why-you-now

Pick a brand you love, find the right person at the company (Head of eCommerce, Sales, Growth, etc), and follow my format.

PBC - was there anything else you took away from your training that isn’t in the post?

It’s never about you and what you want. Stop referring to yourself or your company. Also, no one is above SDR work, so send the email.

I see nothing wrong with using ChatGPT to do the heavy lifting on a task like this. There’s no reason not to other than having an aversion to technology. And it does say he can use any tool available to him.

But in all seriousness this is a lame ask by the company. It’s not an SDRs job to write the mass-emailed email.

Don’t look at it as an email, but a summary of what this company can do for the market. Simple value prop identification and knowledge of the buyer is a good way to tell if the candidate can do basic research and accelerate their time to productivity.

Ok that reasoning makes sense. I can dig it.

It’s normal - I’ve had to do a take home test for my role.

Atleast it's relevant to what you'd be doing. I had to do riddles and BS math. Writing sample cold emails is an appropriate test.

"Why you, why now, Why i think I can help you" is how I like to frame my cold emails.

"Why" is the biggest question we have to answer in sales.

I’d be interested to take PBC’s format, insert as a prompt for my specific industry and see what if spits out.

The way I look at it, that’s your baseline. Just be better than that right?

It happens and the good thing is it's an open book test with no resources restriction as stated and I believe that 24 hours is good enough to get it done.
Moreover they told you congrats as per the letter that I think means you're close enough to get the offer and only very few steps ahead hopefully.
Best of luck!

Yeah - just feed the case study in GPT, I think it will give you a pretty good reply
