Too good to be true?

Recruiter claims that 5/7 reps are trailing 1M W2's, and they have 3 openings.

What questions are a must for  management?

I think this is too good to be true, and if it were true, how likely is it that 3 new reps will experience the same success?

idk... grass is always greener on the other side.

sign an NDA and ask for a screenshot of the dashboard in Salesforce on closed rev by rep

Always good to be sceptical. Can you find some of the reps on LI and message them to get their version?

DEFINITELY talk to reps. Recruiters are salespeople too.

I would ask what they mean by "trailing".

Also how long have they been at the company?

How are they doing that?

How big are their territories?

Do they get inbound leads? How does that work?

What did those reps do before joining that company?

I would TOTALLY be skeptical.

great list, I'd also get info on the comp plan.

-how does it work
-what percentage is paid out
-how long has it been the same / how often do they change it

all the companies i've worked for would absolutely gut the entire plan if 70% of the team made $1m.....

great point! especially on how often has it changed.

A comp plan that has stayed the same for a long time is not always a good sign, but understanding what has changed and why would be good insight to have. Although I doubt they will share it.

'is the company okay to continue paying out 1m W2's or is there a comp plan change coming soon?'

"what have these reps or this company done differently to allow for these number to happen/be hit?'

'what have you as a manager done to enable these reps to trail 1m/yr and how do you plan to continue to enable them to consistently hit that financial goal?'

"if your boss told you you have to change the comp plan so that now reps have to put in twice the amount of work to hit that same one mill comp how would you fight for us?'

You're talking to a recruiter, they're gonna make it sound like heaven. Talk to reps and management.

Ask for first year turnover - don't buy the "internal promotion" story. Did those reps move into other depts. bc of performance? Recruiters rarely know anything, they just repeat what they're told.
