What are your thoughts on a tool like Gong?

We don't use a tool like that in my company but I've seen it in action with some other companies. Feels pretty intense to have all meetings recorded but at the same time it does offer some learning opportunities.

In theory it would be a micromanaging managers dream tool but they are too glued to the KPI's dashboard to spend time listening to calls lol

It's invaluable for managers and as it should be for reps.

You can see a massive increase in performance when used properly and you can build a best practice library to help with onboarding and sticking points for individuals/teams.

Itโ€™s a nice to have but not a must have. I love being able to watch recorded demos and calls training for a new job but once Iโ€™m ramped up donโ€™t have time for recordings. Iโ€™d rather my manager help the team instead of watching the team.ย

We use gong and itโ€™s my first timeโ€ฆ the pros far outweigh the cons. The few times I get yelled at for saying something stupid are quickly forgotten with all that I have learned from gongย

I understand the inherent value in it but it's been used more as a Monday morning QB and micromanagement tool than anything else in my experience.ย  For brand new reps I can see it as a coaching tool if used properly, but most sales tools are built for management not sales.ย  This includes Gong

I like it in theory to watch game tape on myself but I hate how the whole sales org has access to it. Makes me get it in my head during demos and makes me feel like I have to be by the book
