what the heck is up with email delivery rates these days?

Customers with existing relationships are reaching out and saying my emails are not getting through or landing in spam. I've heard from two other friends outside my job where they're experiencing this too.

Been trying to send a contract for a week now and it's disappearing into the internet ether.

These security systems are rejected outside emails. Sometimes they have things that read context/text looking for keywords that may also "reject" your email from the email domain. Tools like Salesloft (which i think is terrible) and Outreach are good if you want to spread a wide net but majority of your emails wont even go through and even be read.

Marketing and sales teams always want you to send fancy emails w/links and attachments and pictures attached to make the emails looks fancy and "professional".

Sometimes just sending something short, personal, relevant and to the point via old school outlook or gmail (whatever you use) will have a higher chance of getting through, being read and responded to.

LinkedIn also a great workaround if that doesn't work if the target is on that platform.

Customers are either mandated to purchase or selectively purchase, email security platforms. They are often implemented and not adjusted to help customers, partners, or even supplier emails from getting through.

I think the problem is there is always new tech being recommended everyday and people don't understand how those chances affect delivery rates. I worked with a company that did nothing but video email prospecting and their delivery rates were horrible.

I would send emails without embedded videos with no issue, but the upper management always wanted videos sent to your prospects and then complained about delivery and open rates.
