What would you guys think if you get an offer to be a GM (General Manager)

I got a head hunter asking me for a exploratory conversation about a GM position. I would say I can see a director of sales position more accurate for me but would love to hear your thoughts on switching to GM?

Yes, I agree, but a GM would be more operational and also involved with the day to day of the plant, doesn’t it? No just sales related…

Again - titles are meaningless. Get a Job Description from the HH. That will tell you all you need to know. I know in Europe a GM is often the Head of Sales (VP Sales/CRO/etc). So get the JD and let that guide you.

titles mean shit. ask about the responsibilities.

a public company I worked for, each division had a GM. the GM is above the VP and reports directly to the CEO.

some times a GM could mean.....nothing really haah

FYI, I can only think auto industry off the top of my head. Maybe manufacturing. But a GM tends to be the CEO of a place.
