Where can you find lead lists of lawyers/law firms?

A friend recently closed a seed round for their gen ai startup that sells to employment lawyers. It doesn't seem like the ZoomInfos and Apollos of the world are great for prospecting in this space. Does anyone have tips for prospecting/building lead lists for lawyers/law firms?

How’d they get a seed without any plan for how to find customers? This is why the bubble is bursting.

btw - calling into their main number and asking for a transfer has worked 100x more than when calling enterprises. Try it out, its the best I have figured out so far

They have to pick up the phones, it's a part of law culture. I know someone who is a lawyer and they actually cannot let the phone ring more than three times, even if it's an unknown number, because it's usually a client calling. Sounds like a great target.

Im on a temporary SDR gig calling into law firms and I use apolllo - it hasn't been as good as always with results like when calling into enterprises but, it was the best out of: seamless ai, lusha, rocket reach and zoom info (tbf rocket reach was just about as good but some issues came up when buying so we went with apollo)

I don’t have a real answer, Ben, but would state bars publish lists? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh yeah good point I’m sure there is a published list somewhere.

I’m sure you could find general counsels for corporations pretty easily as well

Try law society websites for the states/provinces being targeted. May be a directory of members. Not sure though.
Also, I'd imagine a lot are advertising/listing themselves as they want to be found.

This can be done in my local state, and it's a damn fine directory, basically a pre-built lead list.
Search "[state name] + state bar" and it's usually the first thing to pop up.

Almost all AMLaw 200 firms have phone numbers for every single attorney in their office on their website. Attorneys need ways for clients to find them and reach out to them.

Can you do a search for "major metro area + employment lawyers"? I would think that would produce a good list to start off.

Use NAICS or SIC codes in zoominfo to narrow the field vs keywords.

Make a list w/ SalesNav, then export their info with DuxSoup or Wiza.
This is for email only btw, but you can easily pull thousands of emails this way in just a few minutes. Filter down for Director/VP if you want a real good short list
