Your commission rate

What's your commission rate (AEs only)? Also, feel free to add in comments the company size, more details on structure, accelerators, etc.

I'll start first: post series B, B2B SaaS, 10% with accelerators to up to 25%. Deal sizes from 30-200k, mostly around 40k. Sales cycles from two months to a year, mostly around 3-4 months.

net new 3% average deal size of about 500k and renewal/residual varies from .5% to 3% based on a rolling 3 month average of net new closes. Average individual renewal for me is about 1MM and total book of business averages 5MM

Thanks for the input! That's an interesting comp plan on renewals.

Can you share what can accelerate that in your compensation plan? Looking for inspiration.

15% on a 50/50, all net/new ARR. Additional 3% for multi-year.

Almost the same plan: 10%, 60/40, only net new though, nothing on renewals :/

I do have growth accounts, where I work with our AMs and any new revenue is the same 15%. I also get nothing for renewals. The nice thing is, the AM is also given commission on the delta, so they are also incented to work with me on those deals.

This sounds like something i can suggest for next year, I’m sure it makes the AM a bit more alert to up selling opportunities too.

How big the company is though? Industry?

Big as in employees? Fairly small. I left a very large tech org to join a smaller company. From thousands of reps to a handful in NA.

I sell software, delivered SaaS. I work with strategic and Enterprise accounts.

What I've seen isthe larger the quota, the smaller the %. Quotas over several million, you'll see a drop.

Indeed, and then, the split might not be 50/50 either.

Up till now it's been flat 10% on net new, and accelerators after hitting quota

100% net new. 13.5% first year bookings on 3 year terms. $5.6M quota. 15% on anything over quota.

Is the quota split throughout the quarters? So you can go over the quota for that quarter, but not hypothetically might end up below the quota for the whole year?

Nah. Flat $5.6M for the year. 12 month deal cycle. Ent sales.

I am only paid on net new business. On a 7 digit annual iACV quota my on target commission is around 14% when the accelerators kick in and those flat out above 150% at 32%. I haven't seen anyone offering more than this in SaaS for a top performer. If they do, I would love to hear from you 😉

Start with 2.125% for the first $300K of order value, but goes down to 0.374 for balance over $900K order value. Deal sizes from 300k to 2M, mostly around 500k. Sales cycles from six months to a year, mostly around 8 months.

In B2B SaaS sales, I've seen crazy commissions. In smaller startups, initial sales employees might be getting up to 50%.

10% of the annual contract value, typical deal size is $7k-$12k, close anywhere from 10-20/month, also a respectable base.

Actually, I did, and didn't find it like this. Usually a very specific case is just being discussed. But thanks for the comment, easy upvotes 👌🏻
