120 Calls Per Day

I've been selling equipment financing to companies exceeding $10MM in annual revenue for a little over 3 years now and I feel like our sales process is archaic. Our outreach is via phone and email. we do have LinkedIn premium for all our reps, but very little use it.

I'm not saying there isn't success is in cold calling, but there has to be a way to contact the CFO's/Controllers of an organization and build a better relationship.

I was posting regularly on LinkedIn, then my VP of sales called me into his office and said something along the lines of " I have 10K+ followers, you have 1K. If I'm not getting any traction, then I'm sure you aren't and it's a waste of your time. " ( I've found 3 projects since then from my posts)

I want to be the top salesperson here more than anything and I feel like we are missing a big piece of the prospecting puzzle.

How do you go about your sales cycle when working with a finance team?

If its providing results, provide the proof to the boss and it should be end of conversation.

If you arent getting anything from it in the way of leads or orders, then fair do's, you dont need it.

Personally, I'm not a fan of LI prospecting. But I guess it works for some. Just be honest in your outreach.
People buy because a "widget" either makes them look/feel good, or it saves them time/money. You aren't going to get anyone's attention with "would you like to save time &/or money...?" Instead use "XYZ Corp saved X% in their deal to purchase equipment. I'd like to share how...". Dropping names and being specific often works for me.

I don't discriminate against any channel for outreach, people have different gifts and you have to use them to get the best results. I have a better approach on the phone so I tend to do more calls (not a 120 calls per day though), but I still see the importance of social selling so I do it as well, I've gotten a couple through there in the past so the more you work it the more success you'll have.

You need be conscious of the businesses brand. LI rah rah may not be their thing, so need to be respectful of that. I’m old school, calls and emails with personalization and a strong why you why now
