I've been selling equipment financing to companies exceeding $10MM in annual revenue for a little over 3 years now and I feel like our sales process is archaic. Our outreach is via phone and email. we do have LinkedIn premium for all our reps, but very little use it.
I'm not saying there isn't success is in cold calling, but there has to be a way to contact the CFO's/Controllers of an organization and build a better relationship.
I was posting regularly on LinkedIn, then my VP of sales called me into his office and said something along the lines of " I have 10K+ followers, you have 1K. If I'm not getting any traction, then I'm sure you aren't and it's a waste of your time. " ( I've found 3 projects since then from my posts)
I want to be the top salesperson here more than anything and I feel like we are missing a big piece of the prospecting puzzle.
How do you go about your sales cycle when working with a finance team?
