How many calls per day w/ no dialer?

Context - I'm in my first sales job (recruitment) and have been with the company for over a year. I do both sides (recruitment and sales) but at this point we literally have no jobs to work on so everyday is pure BD. On this front, I feel a bit lost. I dont trust that my leadership has a clue when it comes to sales. The only thing they care about at the moment is numbers.

At this point, my director is asking us to make 100 dials a day (w/ no dialer) and a follow up email to each prospect we dial. Is this reasonable/doable? I have nothing to compare it to so input is appreciated.

Start referring your leadership for other roles without their knowledge. They’re not meant for Sales.

There is no way to do this with any brain activity. You could reach the number. But it would yield nothing.

Doable for the calls? Sure. Doable for a customized f/u email for every one? Nah

Came here to say that your username is perfect.
And that 100 dials is doable, but not + 100 emails. If they want the kind of targeted outreach that might lead somewhere, they’ll have to quit panicking and have you all focus on ICP and results rather than flailing around.

I’ve worked in staffing as a senior account exec at a small but over 15m+ rev / year company. They’re using you as a place holder for 3 different jobs (departments). BD shouldn’t be a call volume quota, it should be a quarterly revenue quota.

It could be a good gig, but maybe in 2-3 years. Not worth the risk of sticking around.

Aside from a proper sales process.. If you’re going to stick around, provide Letters of Recommendation from other clients who work with you guys - I found this to be reasonably effective.

Find another more developed staffing agency. It’s a good job if you’re in a business development position.

Spray and Pray. You can do it, but it’s not going to work as efficiently as it could.

Quantity over Quality is almost always a mistake. Believe me... once you begin to get results, they will care less about the quantity.

Doable but tough and a mental grind. I did something similar when I sold advertising. Our KPIs were 150-180 minutes of talk time through cold outbound. If no one answers, you’re making 100+ calls each day. The email was just a copy/paste. I’d have the email ready to hit send while I was waiting on the phone.

This was about 5 years ago. Great for cutting your teeth and failing fast, terrible for long term sales growth.

You don't have leadership, you have administrators.
Stop listening to admins and start doing what matters to your prospects when it comes to your outreach.
When you are successful, they will all start asking why.
