Anyone have a resource to make your resume more ATS friendly?

For the first time in a while I've been submitting applications via job postings instead of going direct through referrals or recruiters. I've found that I've been getting a lot of automated denials, which makes me think that my resume is not getting through whatever the ATS algo is. I've always just had hard metrics on there (i.e. quota attainment, stack rank %, president clubs, etc.) which seems to be fine once I am actually in an interview process. Does anyone have any resources on how to balance hard metrics with whatever it is the ATS's are looking for?

I did a whole post a few months back on JobScan.co.

Best site ever for dealing with ATSโ€™s. With all the people losing jobs lately I might repost it. Check the search bar for it, for now.

I think @Kosta_Konfucius was saying something about copy/paste from a job description into your resume the other day, so I'm tagging em for ya.

Thanks for the tag @CuriousFox!

The auto-reject can happen from a lot of different things. Its most common with the Y/N questions they ask. Typically location of the role, work from home preference, salary expectations, and work status.

Too make it more ATS friendly, I would use their terminology so the ATS can pick it up. So copy/paste the words in the job description since those are the terms the ATS will most likely look for.

However, it can also be its an old job posting. Either they lost head count or they offered someone already. and thats why they auto-reject

It can be many reasons unfortunately, thats why I would recommend connecting with employees at placing you want to work at rather than applying

However, when applying do the copy/paste method works the best IMO

Referral has been always the best way for me, just cuz of being referred by someone they already know and worked with gets you a little bit of an advantage.

I believe that Auto Rejection happens for missing a fundamental data on your resume just like (skills,experience,etc...)

Most likely key skills in the job description are missing in your resume. ATS can be unintelligent meaning if you have โ€œ SDR experience โ€œ in your resume But the JD says โ€œ Sales Development repโ€ itโ€™s not going to register.

So basically copy key skills from JD to your resume to the T.

Oh and always apply on the company site if possible instead of the job boards.
