Respect and appreciation. I approach this as a business partnership - we are both striving to achieve the same thing. The closer we work together, the more likely we will be successful.
Set expectations well, make sure both sides stick to them. I like to be more of a mentor to my SDR and work as a team.

I take the time to know them personally. I am still friends with SDRs from previous employers to this day.
It starts with a simple 1 on 1 conversation. Make an agenda. Ask for their opinions and formulate a G2M plan together. Trust and respect is the best foundation.

Treating them like part of the team, and acknowledging that you depend on one another to be successful.
I like to ask for debriefs after calls, collaborate with them to see what I missed, what tone/expression/piece of info can we glean from reviewing it together, and then the same type of debrief after cold calling role plays--it's you against the challenge/obstacle, and we're both better for thinking about it that way.

Its a partnership and you work together. SDRs dont work for aes if thats the setup it will fail as the sdr will run their business their way in this setup and jsut appease the AE in meetings
