Apparently, the fact that I'm leading the team that's driving exponential growth at the company ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH. I'M A BAD LEADER.


Have to figure out a new role soon in the company...here's what my boss said "Bring me an idea that will add $1 million in new revenue this year."


That's just such great leadership. Bold, motivating, captivating, insightful!!! Brilliant!!

Without more details I think you might be missing their intent. I think they value you and your insight and are asking if you have an idea thatโ€™s not been explored. I could be wrong, but Iโ€™d take this seriously and try and think outside the box. Is it a new feature or additional service or is it lowering attrition through a new mechanism. Take the task seriously and see how they respond.

I could be looking at this the wrong way, but it seems to me he/she is asking you to do his/her job. On one hand, itโ€™s a bit of a compliment. On the other hand, what do you get out if it? A promotion? Or is this a leader who will take all the credit for your great idea. Whatโ€™s behind it?

only 1 with long-time industry experience...and he's the one i'm talking about! I knew him before he was my boss. his previous company was extremely poorly run, and he was the CEO of that company LOL before he got pushed out. red flags all over the place with almost all the execs at this place
