Do sales influencer training / programs actually work?

I've been very close a few times to doing a program - I've thought of all of the usual LinkedIn sales guys on all of our feeds. something just always felt super odd about it to me.

Has anyone on here done a training or course and does it actually work?

Not considering doing one anytime soon because I feel that personally - you need to have your own routine that is works for YOU and you only because what we do is so subjective. I do what works for me and I've been successful.

I always felt like when I was getting into one it just felt like I was being forced into a mold that just wasn't me. and most of my "gaps" were small adjustments that aren't worth a 5k price tag.

Feel free to comment with the good, the bad and the ugly.

I’m the absence of any type of sales program or methodology any sales progress will work. How well it will work depends on the person, but they all can work to various extents.

In reality your manager should be doing some of those “sales influencer” mentoring activities. But most don’t.

Only two courses I'd recommend are BowtiedSalesGuy Course and Josh Braun's course.

BTSG is anon and has actionable advice for winning deals/disqualifying prospects.

JB helps with copy and cold calling to illuminate problems that your solution solves.

Paying someone to give you rebranded advice you can get from networking events and your own teammates and leaders? Nah, I’m good.

Some courses or training you typically might come away with one thing new or perhaps a slightly different view point or way to go about a task. But sales isn’t wizardry and there is no secret ingredient , just go out and perform, and if you need help, ask those around you. They will be your best resource.

Feedback is critical. But it doesn't need to come in the form of a $2500 course.

Find a company with good leadership. Ask employees how the sales leaders are. Involved? Sit in on calls? Help critique emails? If yes, there's your influencers. THe people you actually work for.

I mean, you can try the course if it's free.
However I do believe that the course results you will get, can be easily obtained by experience, colleagues or even people who attended the course before.
And I think that even the course content videos you may already find on the internet or at least a feedback from those who have been in the course already .

In your case, you're better off reading some sales books to get some fresh approaches you can use (or not) as you feel. Save the money on a course.

Rarely do they work, there’s more that are bad than good/mediocre. There’s 1-2 I would recommend to check out but that’s about it
