The 2021 Comp Guide from Betts says $120-160k (i.e. $240-320k OTE) for Enterprise AEs in the SF area.

Some recent conversations I've been having suggest more and more people are not taking geographic location into account with comp. You get what you get...if it's not enough, move to Kansas. :P

Kinda depends on the experience/qualifications/performance of the rep. In getting a whole lotta LinkedIn pitches from recruiters and seeing a lot of sales job postings, I'd put it into 4 OTE lumps.

$150k-175k -- New to 2 years Jr. Enterprise AE
$200-225k -- More experienced (2-4yrs) AE with successful track record.
$250-300k -- Sr. AE level with 5+ years as a solid performer.
$300k+ -- Key/Strategic Accounts Sr. AE carrying a LARGE quota and managing the companies top tier customers or targeting new logos in the Fortune 100.

Generally 50/50 split in SaaS sales...at least in my experience.

interesting. I feel like packages are going up (which is good for us sales guys) in some locations.
where are you based? or is "remote" levelling the playing field?

Can't speak for other companies, but ours is $250K OTE (50/50 split) for a level 1 Enterprise rep, and closer to $300K OTE for Strategic reps (2-3 accounts total).

In SF anyway. No idea what they pay people in other states, or even different parts of California...

I am wondering how much that would be if adjusted for other states given the higher cost of living in Cali let alone San Fran. Would have to think it would drop to 200k in FL without the 13% state income tax, right?

I can check, my teammate just moved to Chicago, will ask if his was adjusted.

I just moved myself, luckily to a similar area so nothing was affected. Crazy to think how far money can get you in different areas.

200k 50/50 split for new EAE - goes up in standard increments with experience/good performance
