Firing a client...

I'm just generally curious to see how everybody feels about this. The bosses don't always agree but I'm personally a firm believer that if your clients aren't helping form and develop the partnership on an ongoing basis and work with you amicably then the relationship is no longer worth it. I mean at the end of the day we're all looking for longevity with our clientele. (Not including the gap fillers/inevitable one of clients from all our industries ofcourse. Strictly large accounts.

Thoughts?

Ok to fire a client?

I'm with you on your thoughts. Just 'fired' one of my biggest clients cus' he was threatening one of our Client Managers. Had to let him go, fuck the money – you don't do such things.

There's such a thing as 'bad business', it's a two way street, if a client isn't giving you what you need then you won't be able to give them what they need. Sometimes cutting them loose is the best thing to do

yes in most cases. I do have the odd one or two accounts where unfortunately I have to let some things slide, even if i do not want to. it would be too  detrimental to the company

It’s very probable that we will do this today or this week.

we have a great client in terms of name, brand and pay; the client knows this of course, and changed the rules of the game every month which makes it harder for me and the reps to be consistent delivering results.

The client is also bipolar, he is either jumping with joy or threatening to end the contract before hand. It’s been a rollercoaster from the beginning where only 4/20 reps remain (we were never 20 at once, but did grow to 15 at one point)
