Hit a wall- tips?

had a great year last year, won an award, finished top of the team.

org has made a ton of changes in the last 6 months, which none have been favourable for reps (yet at least), finished 2nd on team in first half of year but performance is getting progressively worse for me as well as the broader team. my worry is I feel like I've forgotten how to sell, don't care as much, coming off as needy and over all getting in my own head.

what's the best at to shake this off In anyone else experience?

Shake it off. Use a few of your vacation days. Come back fresh and start again. You may need a lil reset. ❤🦊

a few tips:
1. take some time off and just break away from work if you can. this normally allows me to come back more focused on the important aspects of the job.
2. record some of your calls/demos where you think you nor performing as well. listen back to it and see if you still feel that way, then have a manager or team mate listen and give feedback.

it could be that you THINK things are going in a certain direction and its just not true.

But if it is, if you listen back to it, many times a few things stand out right away that can be changed to improve performance.

Dont say you have forgot how to sell, I guarantee you haven't. Take a vacation and spend sometime away. Reflect on why you are feeling this way

You indeed need a mental reset. That could happen via a vacation or just a weekend.

What made you successful before? Do you know and Can you recapture it? If it was just luck of a rising market than you’re screwed. Try to drill down on what made you successful to begin with

I'll agree with the majority that a reset/vacation is very helpful.

I'm also curious about the changes that have been made that are unfavorable. In what way? Sounds like you're not the only one struggling.

Definitely not the only one struggling, however I’d like to think there’s SOMETHING I could take more control of and it sounds like mindset really. Need a reset.

In terms of changes- doubled the headcount on the team, changed segment structure, reduced commission percentage, bumped up quotas, and gave us a first time manager with no experience.

@browndiggidy: I'd say you play momentum. Work hard to get 1 little good thing accomplished. Capitalize on it to get another little good thing. Rinse and repeat.

This would sound like the philosophical motivational crap you see on LinkedIn, but i'm sorry, it actually works.

Did you address these concerns with your manager before your QBR and with your wider leadership during your QBR?

Depending on the company, that could be a bad idea.

like others have said - take time off. It sounds to me like you're just burnt out. It happens to us all at one point or another. Take some time off, take a trip, spend some time with family and friends, then come back relaxed and refreshed. Chances are with a fresh mind all those changes won't seem nearly as bad

Go back to basics, think about what got you started and why, what drove you.

Then take a dive into some of your biggest successes, look at the who, why and how. Then compare these successes against your current company environment.

If these could still follow the same path, then you need to refocus. If the company changes would hinder them, you need to sharpen your resume.

Try to distance yourself more from the result. Do the activity needed (like last year) and trust the process.

I know it’s not popular but sales is also partially chance. It’s a numbers game so keep the activity.

100% on board with everyone else who recommended time off. Take a break, have a cocktail and go back to the basics that got you to #1 the first time around.
