How do you when to draw the line??

SOOOOO.....something that I have been realizing is that I am having issues as to when to draw the line for an appt. I am a BDR and you know how it goes, but I am trying to distinguish where I push to try and get the appt, and when to just stop and respect their wishes. I feel like I have been letting people off the hook too easy!

If you ask for an appt twice and they say no, after you've given them all the value in the world after finding their paing and explaining how your solution makes their job and life easier. That's when.

I always move on pretty quickly. It's easier to find a brand new person to tell you yes, than it is to convince someone who's already told you no to change their mind. Also, the people "who's minds I've changed" typically no show the meeting anyways.

I have endless prospects to call so my standards are going to differ compared to someone in specialized SaaS, for instance.

I get a minimum of two "nos" before I consider moving on. The first no is almost always a deflection. I dig for the second one and evaluate from there. Sometimes it results in a yes, sometimes it's a yes but not right now, a no but it's worth it to get in touch again down the line or a hard no, won't bother calling this person again.

be firm with them but also not too hard that you scare them off from coming to you with questions

I like to get a minimum of three no's before I'm done. The third no I'll back off.

We use Salesforce. If someone isn't interested we will mark them "not interested" and every 5-6 months we will flip them all back to "potential" to be hit up again.

End with two kinds of appointments. Either a confirmed meeting, or a confirmed time that'll be better to reconnect. If it's the latter, always try and change it to a meeting. I used to frame it as "assisting with your future planning" when I pounded the phones.

No means maybe, maybe means yes 😎 In all seriousness, if you get a hard no, I’d leave it alone for ~3 months. If you don’t get a yes, no, not me, not now - it’s free range in my perspective.

If you have a ton of leads, give them the two chances and one last “before I leave you alone email” then move on. Maybe set a reminder to try them again in a quarter or longer.
